    Back on the Road

Big thanks to Kris, who came over and gave the old girl the once over yesterday. After a bit of tinkering we had her running again. After 10 years in the garage, a great result I think!!

Next a good service and see where we go from there.

thanks for the other replies to my original post

    Hi all, new member here!!!
I've got a 5 in my garage, that I want to get back on the road. Thought this would be the best place to start. Can anyone recommend a decent garage/mechanic in the Swindon/Oxford area. Its a pretty standard 86 E. Don't want it to be the fastest thing in the world. Just running and sound and back on the road.

I'm sure it'll be more than a service. Its been stood for approx 4 years!!

Bodywork is good, front seats are shot
Mechanically not so sure. What I can remember from the last time i drove it. It ran a bit hot, the speedo wasn't working. I spose first thing would be to give it a once over and take it from there.

History goes, bought it, drove it for a year, wiring loom burnt out (fixed) someone tried to nick it, got given a company car, been in the garage waiting while I've got some money together!!

    Re: Back on the Road

no problems Joel, was nice to meet you yesterday. Was nice to see a standard lekky blue, E plater

Had afew issues with a rather 90`s lazerline alarm system which ended up in the bin eventually . other than that id didnt take much to get the old girl fired up, just a new tdc sensor and an AEI ( + some fresh fuel )

Just get those parts on that list i gave you Joel, and il pop over in the coming weeks and we can see what the car needs for an MOT
