I think if you have a white turbo it has to have the decals on it, it oozes class. I'm in waterlooville just outside pompey. Next weekend I'll be starting to strip and clean then rebuild an old engine I have knocking around, oh yeah if any one has any original seat bolts 5 off would be well appreciated.

I was gonna do it black give it the oe look. It's the first engine I've built so least with the red I'll be able to see any leakages when I finaly get round to turning her over.

    Re: secret project

small update, not gonna be ready for the pod next week but is looking good. i got a full set of silicon hoses from china, have heard good and bad things about these but for the price it was worth a punt. also have had probs with dodgy starter motor but cheers to phase 1 16v for having a look and getting a replacement now is turning lovely. i also made a good carb out of 2 bad ones. only a couple more bits and ill have her running for the first time since owning her. ill keep posted on hoses they fitted alot better than expected and only trimmed a couple of water hoses and will have to do the breathers but we'll see.

finaly the motor is tax and tested and has done 500 trouble free miles. all thats needed is to have the front and back bumper blown in and also giving back the bonnet which was borrowed and replace with the standard one and get wheels refurbed and should be a very tidy motor

Cool. I was gonna stick with 13s but didn't like the tyre choice you get with them so I think gonna stick with these you don't see the 19 wheels very often unlike the Clio turbines.

managed to adjust the torsion bar and fit some yellow konis to the front looks loads better me thinks. in two minds to have the wheels refurbed black or keep them stock there in very good nick as they are.also be refitting the bumper strips and need to fit some 45 profile tyres. also my chinese hoses havent missed a beat leaked or split. bargain.

    Re: secret project

For me black went back out of fashion as soon as it became widely adopted by everyman and his modified dog.

    Refurbed anthracite for me.

Looks absolutely top atm anyway. I had these wheels on a tungy GTT 12 years ago, loved them then and love them now

I'd also be tempted to go clear fogs, indicators and repeaters and then leave it at that.

Cheers for comments lads. Have had a few gtt's grey red and a black phase 1 but this is what I've always wanted mine to look like. Might leave how it is for the mo and just work on getting it set up with a bit more boost and running ok. It's my daily driver and gets used to do the shopping in and does the school run. I had a yellow r26 with gloss black wheels and loved them so we'll see.

    Re: secret project

i recently had the car hooked up to an afr meter thanks to fishead, it showed that when cruising the gauge would drop straight off the scale to 10 and more then likely lower,im a bit of a novice on the subject of afr's but was told this is very rich and not good. i had built the carb from 2 bad ones so to save the ucking around arranged a new refurbed card and set up to run a bar of boost. the car is now sweet as a nut and runs 100%better i cant stress enough to get your car set up with an afr gauge.
