    That'll be a chargecooler mate

I've never used one myself and personally don't like chargecoolers but i think a few members on here have used one like that of the same design with good results.

I have had both, charge cooler and intercooler, and much prefer intercoolers. It seemed to control my charge temp much better than my charge, then again i did only have a pace set up !

edit: that company are just down the road from me and charge the world for everything, if your interested in a charge cooler shop around mate

Re: verones thoughts on these intercoolers ?

wouldnt you oly need the chargecoolr itself and the pump and plumb it up to your wwater system ,insted of buying the kit with all the red inculded..

on paper these seem way better the front mounts even the small1 beats a medium front mount which is perfect for a 5 ? im really concidering these now

The AVT chargecooler was next on my shopping list had i kept the 5, i think i was looking at using another 5 header tank or another washer bottle in the scuttle, pump, and a motorbike rad where the foglight would be for a pre rad

    Sounds like a plan ricardo.

its it as simple as it says tho.. could i keep it near the turbo with out it getting to hott.. i was just planing it quick in my head , could you have a 45 degree samco off the turbo stright to the chargecooler then connect the air filter the other end via another 45 degree samco , so the cooler would sit over the gear box-ish and the filter right where the oe intercooler was

hmm, you might want to have a re-look at that interesting plan.

cant belive i just made that mistake... def think its time for bed.. lol how would you pipe it without having to many angles ?

you could have it above the oil filer running parallel with the block then haveing a slightly upturned 90 degree to the lobster.

then having a 90 on the other end runnig down to the correct hight to corraspond to the turbo then another 90 with a samco finishin off to the turbo

The air filter will still come off the front of the turbo housing like aways, can run it to behind the grill.

90 bend off the carb top, AVT chargecooler abover rocker cover, then pipework to the turbo outlet

Re: verones thoughts on these intercoolers ?

Put the charecooler on the n/s next to the turbo (adequately heat wrapped) 90 off the top, one straight pipe then 90 onto the carb top. You can get the correct shaped pipes to go from turbo outlet onto the bottom of charge cooler

so basicly a pre rad as large as you can get, the better.

Do you rekon having it under the bonnet with louvers above it is enough or would you front mount it ?

Front mount infront of as much air as possible! Dale Jarvis (i think) runs his infront of his fog lamp, Alastair Brown has done this
