Standard gearbox & engine is fine, T25 or T28(laggy but good for high bhp) are good turbo's, decent intercooler, a good service...

Oh and get the fueling bang on and jobs a good un... Fueling and correct boost measure's are for more important than high bhp claims and bling bling crap.

Dont be fooled into buying forged this, low comp that, most is not needed.

i was going to re build the moter bottom end and top but was going to do a standard bottom end and up rated head gasket and bolts and maybe a cam then sort the carb out bigger jets front mount and a t25 does all this sound like it would create 180 and be reliable is liquid injection necessary

A standard rebuild, standard gasket with stronger bolts, standard cam and the poss something like a T25 or T2/T25 combined with a decent intercooler and set up carb will see around the 180bhp mark.

No water/methanol injection is not needed for that sort of power

Plus standard gearbox will take it all day if its in good working order
