I used to get very well looked after but I think my bonus will be about 80% down. But I'm not overly fussed as I'm still employed unlike many other unfortunate people.

We were all told to roll up our trousers a bit.....then at the end of the day, we were told that any nuts/bolts /washers we found in the rolled up bits, we could keep......thats about as good as it gets at our place for Xmas bonuses.

No worries Daniel. it was just what my work said to us, "You should be lucky to have a job" then find out that the company has made record profits. They take the pi$$. Also they have decided to make boxing day,a normal working day. They are

    Indeed

Consider getting a pay packet each month as your bonus, given the currect financial climate...

    Re: Christmas bonus

After a year that saw our shop floor staff reduced by 90, we got a bottle of cava and a £10 voucher. I was happy with it but some others refused it . Also we had a free bar at the Xmas party. I've been working here 13 years and have never had anything at Xmas. I'm also back on a 5 day week in the new year which is around £240 extra a month

I know I'm lucky to have kept my job.

    Good old Korean's..

Mart, Not all industries are hit, during a bad financial climate, so I don't agree with what you are saying. Some companies use the "bad financial climate" excuse as a way of scroteing their workers. As for what dawn says about normal working day, in my situation this is b0llock$, as the company has never worked this day as "a normal working day' in the 23 years it's been trading.

I'm just saying there's been tens of thousands that have lost their jobs over the past couple of years, and if you're still employed at the moment, then you should be gratefuel for that/getting a pay-packet each month & not be fecking whinging on that you didn't get any Xmas bonus.

Mart, point out where I said, that you had created the scroteing comment. I created that comment meaning, alot of companies use times of hardship to their own advantage to line their own pockets. The bonus for me has been the same for years at my place so I'm not bothered about that, just sick of thr media saying, you should be lucky to have a job. Maybe I should join a cult that I can give a percentage of my wage too so I can feel less guilty about having a job.

Guys and gals out there who have lost there jobs through no fault of their own, I offer you my best wishes and hope you get a job again asap, think I'm turning into a moody old man, I think most of my anger is vented towards my employer and the media. Fook knows were all this came from, I'm normaly
