I'm gunna track a clio, on a budget of course.
Will this have any benefit in real world town and motorway driving conditions?
Im not going to be going hard into the round about if ya know what i mean.
Is a road legal track car something totally different from fast street car?
track cars are usually bare minimum, you dont need a radio, rear seats, sound deadening, carpet etc in a track car but they are quite nice for the daily grind/road use
tracks are generally smooth, roads generally aint... sound deadening/roof lining/carpets makes a difference on the road, and also when its cold it usually stops the ice forming on the inside of the screen

Hmmm, This clio has a full williams interior in it so perhaps i should just go for fast road and enjoy iy every day. Then just love it on the track at national day.
Trouble is my Colt CZT is a face street car. i havent got that track experience yet. Perhaps i will keep the clio comfy until i have had a few goes (years) on the track. then if I'm enjoying it maybe the clio can become that weapon.Originally Posted by clee

'tis true, I have removed all the sound deadening, roof lining, heater, radio, door cards etc. fitted corbeau revolution seats, and to say on uk roads it's uncomfortable is and understatement. If you're determined, at least keep the heater.They are not the sort of thing to just hop into to pop down the shops .

I rembember driving my tungy up to santa pod with no heater box all carpets removed plastic windows no radio no fcuk all. Having plastic windows that dont go down causes problems all the heat coming through the bulkhead plus being a hot day was un bearable, on the motor way stripped down to my shorts sweating like a fat kid in a cake shop. Plus I had a battery radio in the car which I thought would be a good idea for the trip, how wrong was I. It was so loud in the car I could not hear the radio on full volume. Got out the other end wet through and with a banging head ache. I think I might get a trailer for the track car

, I remember following you back that time.....you looked like you were going to faint behind the wheel from all the heat !
At one point I had my foot wedged in the door trying to get the heat out
But theres Hoses that go beyond the fire wall? (if thats what its called , a fire wall)
Where does that water go?
The two hoses can be joined together or move the header tank and get shot of most of it.
...it only weighs a couple of kilo's...may as well leave the matrix alone....plus, you will lose some of the cooling efficiency of the engine coolant system.

not noticed any cooling efficiency loss to be honest, but yeah if I was building again then I'd have left the matrix in, I have still got the blower motor(I cut the bottom of the airbox off and fibreglassed it closed so I could still use it to blow air at the windscreen) but it's cold air only. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, particularly in this weather.
