    smoke

ive got the car running now.
i have just dropped the oil earlier must have done about 100 miles before i changed it.
im now getting blue smoke on idel.

im just woundering weither this could be a breather hose on wrong somewhere?

or is it definatley the turbo? cheers

it still goes well though thats why im thinking its not the turbo.
as it just kept up with my m8s punto on just over 0.5bar off boost and he was on the same.

and hes got a seb 2 chip and front mount.

    Re: smoke

It could still be the turbo. Take the air filter off and check for oil inside the turbo.

    Re: smoke

if i was to take the filter off and there was no oil there.

could the seals have gone on the exhaust side?
    cheers

    Re: smoke

It could be your valve stem oil seals or your turbo. You need to take the exhaust elbow off the back of the turbo to check for oil, if you find it the turbo oil seals are fooked.

What grade engine oil do you use?

If you dont have the one way valve and you have the standard breather pipe setup, the turbo will come on boost and pressurise the breather system, rocker cover and probably send pressure down into the sump as well

I dont know for sure, but thats what its all connected to.

    Re: smoke

15w40 engine oil. i have just started it up to show a m8.
and looked at the turbo and it looks like oils coming out of the turbo on the exhaust side. as i can actually see oil around it.

what does the breather look like?
and dont suppouse any1s got a part number for it?
    cheers

    Re: smoke

Could also be a too small diameter for the turbo oil return hose... or a kinked/blocked one... have you checked that? If that one's too restrictive, the turbo gets backfilled with oil, which can go through the seals because of the pressure build-up...

    Re: smoke

Turbo has probably had it, check for play in the shaft. They always seem to boost ok even when they smoke badly.

ive put an old turbo on.
baiscally i blew a liner agers ago and thought it was the turbo originaly and replaced it. but that didnt fix it.

so ive whacked that turbo on. and no smoke so far.

will still look a getting abetter turbo very soon.

    Re: smoke

i think you could run one pipe from that actuator port to the carb base.
and loop tthe two ports on the car elbow.
not 100% sure though so someone more qualified would be better to help.

but then saying that in this link below thats baiscally what it shows.

    the cup mod
