    thingy on the bottom of the carb

    can anyone tell me what the arm at the bottom of the carb does?

    its on the opposite end of the throttle cam underneath the fuel supply pipe

    are you talking about the pump jet?

    whats its purpose? and is there any gains to be had from adjusting it.

    accelerator pump jet, when you open the throttle it pumps a quick squirt of fuel in for throttle response.
