Received my first CYC order today..

Like a kid at christmas!! [and prepared for a roasting? haha]

Cant wait until the 5 day weekend off work coming up next. Will be doing a detail on the AX most likley seeing how she turns out as she is a perfect base for a polish/restore as its got absolutley no polish/wax on it at the moment and its So, so dull. I'll use brigsy's digi SLR to get some decent pics on the way.

Big thanks to Tim at CYC for a speedy order and first class service!

Buckets arrived promptly from CG too, good build quality although i was expecting the grit guards to fit bang on at the bottom, theres a few cm around so it can move.. not sure if thats normal?

The folks were moaning after unpacking in the kitchen so was forced into the hallway..

    Some pictures anyhoo

Re: Received my first CYC order today..

    You map, i'll polish.

    we have a deal, no?

Its not really a 'kit' as such, more a selection of products that get good feedback/reviews and many of the pro detailers use. I am curious to see what the concourse wax comes out like after a lathering of poorboys white diamond (white car) which may be of some interest to you.

Once i get into the swing of things no doubt i'll start offering my services at a cost. Of course cheaper than a pro but no doubt better than any off the shelf halfords products will give with a 15min bucket and sponge

I have wanted to get into detailing of cars as I never seem to be happy with the way that my car comes out once I had finished washing it.

If you don`t want to put a price up here how much it cost you can pm me

Lol, i didnt exclusivley buy this kit to clean my ax dude.

I intend on doing my Saxo.. and keeping on top of my AX Sport when ive finished building it. Also likley offering detailing services locally to friends/family when i get into the swing of things.

Also. I think you'll find both of my AX's are actually exceptionally rust- free.

**** me, you gone out your way there, i notice you have a snow lance, they are uber cool, my problem is that i cudnt be arsed to clean a car to that degree , unless every part of the car was mint anyway.

Bare in mind though that a lot of the products only need to be used once, maybe twice a year if that depending on the condition of the paintwork.

quick detailer and reapplication of wax, wheel clean& seal and a quick detail of the engine bay when you want to show it off are typically all thats required to keep it looking mint after a good initial going over after years of neglection

Yeah right, those bags of booty you won couldn't have been far off.

I actually love getting new detailing stuff through and have probably got almost as much but I now limit myself to a few tried and tested products.

Chemical Guys new look trim gel/tyre shine is what ive gone for.

Apparently it gives a good matt finish that doesnt stay wet and fly off spraying your arches with tyre shine.

Will see how it goes. Ive a set of new tyres on the AX (55 profile) so will see how they go on brand spankers. Will throw some before/afters up once ive used it.
Im also told the Swissvax Pneu stuff is superb but its not cheap!

    True

From what I understood the swissvax Pneu was more of a rubber conditioner rather than a "finish."

autoglym srp wont remove swirls, but it does a good job of filling them as its quiete filler heavy, then as your doing apply a good wax to seal in the work youv done

For the tyre shine its all pretty similar, if you dont want 'sling' applying it sparingly dry, and buff off with another clean cloth

Iv been getting into detailing the last few months, built up a good kit, im no where near the standards off some on detailing world, and dont put in as much time as some of them as i simply dont have it.

But detailing can do wonders, would be good to get your 5's even cleaner? Look what i did to a clio spare door i had hear to show what can be done...
You can see on the right where the scratch was, and on the left how it can be corrected

swirls on 1 side, not on the other where iv machined it

    far side has been machined

could try some Black Hole instead of AG SRP as a swirl filler, supposed to be real good on dark coloured cars?
