    fuel pump

    hi ive been messing with my car this morning finally got it idling ok then messed with the relays for the central lockin and windows went to put the car away turned it off and lockd the doors then could hear a buzzing noise from under the car the fuel pump was wining round even though everything was off. had to disconnect battery and re connect and it went off. anyone any ideas?? thanks

    take the fuel pump relay out and put it back again

    i took the fuel pump relay out today when messing with the window and central locking relay by accident then after this the pump started running on its own, shal i re take it out and put t back in.could i have disturbed the relay takng it out earlier??? thanks

    no but you can bridge the relay it so it runs permently

    so with the relay out it still runs perm ???
    could be a wire fault and do you now if its the main pump still on ?? or the aux pump staying on ??

    lol ,, its not the aux pump filling the main tank is it

    Neither pumps will run with the ignition off, Sound like a sticky pump relay to me. Give it a slap about and see what happens

    Or you have put it back in backwards somehow and its bridge the 2 terminals magically somehow

    the car is not starting now might be flooded coz the pump running how do i check if my pump is a standard pump or uprated anyone know any numbers that are on them? always wanted to know if its uprated so whether know to buy on or not. going to have a mess with the relay tomorrow see if anything hapens

    sorted the problem now u was right mate my mate the eletrician had put the relay in wrong way round lol
