Well if I could upload photos from my phone here I would do
More, it’s efi now makes 220hp/260torque at 24psi at 3900rpm so
the stroke crankshaft makes it boost straight away with gt28turbo,
But I’m not happy with it well the engine ain’t happy it’s breathing really heavy the oil catch tank fills up with pure engine oil after 30min drive so looks like the rings are gone and problem is
I can’t get the parts to fix it as it’s got oversized 80mm pistons and liners which means the block has been machined out bigger
with bigger liners so I can’t go back to 76mm pistons so the only way to sort it is build a new block from scratch and re use the crankshaft, at moment I ain’t got time for it I’ll just keep emptying the catch tank for now😬

Just been having a look at 80mm piston ring sets mate
There are a few out there, some for a Nissan Sunny that may fit. Just need to know each ring thickness to see if they fit

I rather go back to 76mm Pistons and liners as with the 80mm liner is to tin where it meets the head gasket on the fir ring on the gasket is only is only 3/4mm sealing area and that could cause the heavy breathing too

If you got 76mm pistons and liners i think you will need to fit an original crank too, the throw of the long crank will push a standard piston out the top of the liner at the top of the stroke

I found website in Argentina that have 76/77mm Pistons for 1550cc to suit stroked crank but until I pull it apart I can't be sure,

I wonder if they are Daewoo Pistons that were used in that 1600cc kit on ebay a while ago, might be worth looking into them
As you say you won't know till you remove the pistons anyway, be a shame to not use the bigger pistons. Think the displacement of your engine was closer to 1700cc from what Nick told me when i bought the car years ago

Would love to see how far the CC of a C1J can be taken. Would breath new life into it keeping it all looking stock.

Be a much better drive off boost too.

Great project and work. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve done with the piston ring issue or if you have gone for a new block.

Going to reduce the piston bore back down to 77mm it is 80mm bore with shot rings
and it’s got liner seal issues so yeah new blockName: 76D54E79-E3D2-4BD1-B935-FCF1B3FD989F.jpg
