Different types of throttle linkage.
From what i remember theres 2 different types of throttle setup for r5 gtt. Mine is a J plate and uses what i would describe as he direct setup which dosent have the link bar type set-up where by it comes back on itself. As such the throttle is very very hard under your foot. I wish to change to the type with the linkage, is anybody able to shed some light on the subject.
also does anybody have the parts i require to change my setup.

The setup you have got shouldn't be hard under the foot, I would say its more the cable needs replacing, possibly melted, or rusted in side, unless its difficult to move the carb by finger though

hmm ill check, ive replaced the cable though , im sure i spoke to the master a couple of years back at nat day who reported the same issue of having quite a lot of resistance on the pedal, ill check the carb and see if thats the problem.

If it's got a tight spring that will make it heavy too, surely?

I'm sure I have one spare on my other carb I'll check on Sunday for if this helps out?

Maybe your throttle cable is being pinched somehow, by the retaining clip or some such.
I think the linkage type is from the earlier cars. I'm not sure if that means you'd need a different (shorter?), throttle cable to work with it.
I bet Mike at GT Spares would be able to advise.

Even with your current set up the cable shouldn't be overly tight. I have your set up and it's fine. I have replaced my cable, like you. I would say make sure it's not pinched and make sure it's routed correctly and maybe even lubricate it a bit.
As far as I know there is only 1 type of cable available these days, which can be cut down to suit.
