    1987 VW Golf GTI

Well, I cant afford to run 3 cars with 1 income coming in and 2 babies to feed so something has to give!

Offers around £1,750 are welcome, it is sat at my work doing nothing so I would love her to go to a new home and be used for this summers shows. Spec is on my profile.

    Re: 1987 VW Golf GTI

Mileage is around 175k, I am the 5th/6th owner. Folder cramped with history, I have kept EVERY receipt, Ebay auctions the lot. Here is what iv done since owning it

    New clutch
    new clutch cable
    new gearbox oil
    new coolant
    new spark plugs
    oil and filter
    new cambelt kit
New middle and rear standard exhaust
    New VR6 track rod ends

    new front bumper
    new rear bumper
    new cross haired headlamps
    new rear GTI lamps
    new side repeaters
    new indicators
    New badgeless grill

    audi a3 pepperpot wheels
165 55 15 stretch tyres tyres are nearly new

full front and rear coilover suspension

VR6 widetrack conversion (makes the stance around 20mm wider than a standard mk2) including:
    VR6 driveshafts
    VR6 anti roll bar
    VR6 bottom arms
    Polybushed bottom arms
    VR6 hubs all round
VR6 (as new) 288mm front disc conversion
    New MK3 golf Rack ends

    35mm FK hubcentric rear spacers

Car has never been welded, It still has the original brake pipes fitted, although i have replaced the 2 rear brake pipes to accommodate the VR6 rear callipers.

Comes with all the old mk2 golf gti setup (brakes, suspension etc.)

Also includes a "2E" 2 litre engine removed from a 78k one lady owned Mk3 golf (same engine used in early MK3 golf gti's. It is a common conversion and bolts straight in using the Mk2 golf cylinder head.

Also included is a Kent Cam, cant remember the spec but can check.

    Oh bad bits...

Small rust scab on n/s lower corner of windscreen and some rust on bottom of front arches, but there are plenty of black mk2s being broken on ebay for some new wings. 2nd gear can crunch on occasions when cold but once warm its fine, hasnt got any worse since I owned it, but to cure it would need the 2nd gear syncromesh changing. or a different gbox.

    cheers Lee
