Luckily it was a simple fix, but I've got to say a big well done to Shoppers, Al, and Matt, who were prepared to help out in getting a drive-shaft out to Belgium (if it were needed). Yet more proof that RTOC is one of, if not the, best car club out there .

Thanks Mart, Bekki, Rickay, and Al - It was a truly awesome few days away, with some top friends. Loads of banter, loads of beer, shed-loads of steak, and some awesome scenery/cars/driving. I don't think I could ever tire of going to Nurburg, or Spa. They're both such great places, and that's before you even see the tracks

Finally, a massive thanks to Rickay for letting me jump (or clamber, thanks to "THAT F*CKING ROLL-CAGE" into the Clio for the weekend. I can't believe that fuel consumption

A message to anyone who's contemplating one of these trips. Start saving a few £ a week now, and get in on next year's fun and games. You won't regret it!

And yes a big big thank you between Shoppers, Matt and Alex conversing trying to sort out the logistics.

Oh, and driving down the wrong side of the road near Dunkerque

Amen to that my Bruvva from another mother!!

Everytime I think of the 'ring I can't wait to go back! It's just an EPIC place.

Glad you guys didn't get caught in any of this crap whilst you were there!

As much as it saddens me, I think the 'ring has become a bit of a victim of it's success of late added to the janky management!! Won't stop me going to soak up the atmosphere though!!

Re: No bling at the 'Ring (and Spa) 2011

Was (as always) a great few days at the Ring/Spa with great friends. Mightly impressed with Ricky's Clio, and even more so with the mpg figure he was achieving! Saying that, I was pretty chuffed to see 29mpg from the Evo on the journey out there.

Managed to wear the Evo's rear brake pads down to the metal, and then some (!), which meant trying to find a local pad stockist in deepest Belgium. Zilcho in Spa or its nearby towns (thanks again for ferrying me around Al'), tried several auto parts/garages en route to Dinant (where we're staying for a couple of days), all to no avail, then on arriving at the hotel here, what should be literally opposite us - Belgium's equivalent of a GSF oulet that also stocks Jap parts. Win!

Pads ordered & in within 24hr, and now fitted on the Evo. The old pads have fecked the discs (which will need replacing when I get back home), but at least we can now complete the rest of the holiday/drive home without any more metal-on-metal braking!

All good fun. Next stop, Antwerp.

PS, I've finally decided - I'm keeping the Evo...

Jeez' man the officials are piss poor - walking about the scene, no pre warning - should a had the area staged down a mile back.

The officials are lucky if non of them got banjo'd.
