    Re: santa pod day

cool, i hope to have my car in a good working order for then to try out a few things.

also thinking of trying out a spare gearbox with a welded input shaft and diff, to see what difference it makes on the 1/4
only thing is i wanna drive the car up there and home, as thats a good part for the day, if in a convoy
but i dont want to fit that box 1st and drive there with it on (chances are i will break it there anyway, 400+ bhp and l/c will do that, might even try getting some slicks to) , so unless some1 local is going in a van full of tools and lets me chuck some stuff in, either i got to tow it, or leave that idea out.

Hope to make this yet again with the civic. Its a brilliant day to get easy unlimited access to the track, ideal for testing. Just hope it doesnt break the week before on our 2nd hks round...

As some of you prob know by now Santa Pod now let passengers ride down the strip for the extra £10 fee, passenger must sign on like a driver etc but for the £10 get as many rides as they like all day in whatever car... Road legal cars only tho.. so that rules hot rides in scoffs 5 out the window as i very much dout he would put treads on ... But will the same Passenger ride option be at our PRIVATE RTOC day...

I didn't realise they were doing that now, when they say only road legal cars does that not include us boys who use slicks then?

Ah well, yeah could always do a few runs with road tyres to show peeps how they go, will be nowhere near as quick though.

Dame thats quick for road treads, whats that in?

mark, specky's road tyres are M/T ET streets, so a cut slick, the same as santi gianni. They're passable in TOTB, not actually UK road legal though, so debatable if pod staff will allow passanger runs with them or not.

Ah i see, yeah i know thet tyres now. I remember looking at James Willdays RX7 the year he competed in TOTB, he was running a set. They are pretty much slicks with some grooves cut in them. Thats the thing might be worth them defining what road legal means, if its cars with tax and ticket or wheels they use.

Ah yeah i know the Tigra now Rob, that will be interesting to see if he's popping along

I bet that after 2 or 3 runs you wont want to be hauling an extra 90+kg of weight up the strip in the form of a passenger!!

Last year pod did agree to put us on the website & pod calander's....wernt sure if it was an extra cost tho...

But this year it hasn't happened, i very much doubt it will effect the attendance, nor will make any difference to a great day for the club and its member's.

You sure Glen? either way they guy ran not exactly a ground breaking 60ft, 1.97, if it was a 1.7 (like you should get with a decent drag tyre) he would have seen a 10second pass fact.. also if he was on a proper drag tyre and trying to push who goes fitting drag tyres to 15inch rims (which he had on)... with a 13" combo it would shift in to 10s... Good Walls rule 60s

Ps looking forward to see your new build this year
