*RTOC World Karting Championship North West Sunday 4th May

Yes that's right folks it's that time again!

A full GP event at Hooton Park. The cost is £45 per person and details can be found on their website:

Don't be fooled by the basicness of the website; this track is a proper MSA outdoor track and is fast. We've held this event for the last few years now and each time we've had a good turn out and a great laugh. It'll last about half a day depending on how many members we have.

Stick your names down early.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about that! :sad:

It was TrixanFlix who span out infront of me and no matter what I did I couldn't avoid ploughing straight into him, it was a quite fast bend also that I was entering. I ended up punting him up in the air then the kart came down and landed on my right foot:laugh:

He then was spun off in the correct direction and finished the race in a reasonable position and I ended up 4th or 5th. :disagree:

Where has Tony walker been? haven't seen him on the boards for a while.

Won't miss him at the karting tho, he was really quick:laugh: I remembered he bullied me round for 3 laps or so last time. He was miles faster than me but I wasn't for moving out of his way:wasntme: we were even side by side at one point playing chicken into a bend:smokin:

Yeah that's right I remeber the incident - bring steelies with you this time! :D

Tony is still a member but he doesn't really seem to bother with RTOC anymore. I've text him and he hasn't got back to me (no surprise there!) I'm sure he'll be up for it though. We need to sabotage his kart.....

I have a mate who is over from NZ. He fancies coming along but can't confirm until a day or so before.

I'm assuming it will be ok if he just tags along?

I'm sure that'll be fine, you have my number Phil. If everyone on the list turns up this should be a cracking event. They'll have to split up into 2 groups as only 10ish are allowed on the track at once! :cool:

Start time is 13:30 but aim to be there at 13:00 at the lastest for the briefing :agree:

Hi does anyone fancy meeting up some where and drive down in a bit of a convoy to the karting there seems to be a few going from close by going .

I have to drop my kids off over in Oldham first so will be heading down the m60

If i was coming from mine it would be down the m65. Mojo is from your neck of the woods, he I'm sure would be up for a convoy.

We could maybe arrange something for lyme services? Say 11/11:30 am. Hang about talk about turbo Renaults and wait for anyone who's broke down on the way:laugh: Set off from lyme 12 ish to arrive well in time for 1pm?

Sorry to let you down at such short notice 2 of my mates have let me down and I was hoping to pay 3ways on fuel so its not worth my while.Wish they had let me know earlier!!

what an excellent day, thanks guys really enjoyed it. well done to phil for coming first:agree:. happy with 5th position. some really good drivers spent the final race trying to catch up with mark and phil but they just kept going faster and faster lol ended up spinning out too many times. atleast i knw for next time avoid the brakes;)

also a pleasure to meet dan, alex and roy. thanks for a top day.:agree:

Well worth the day out.

One or two were a little quicker than me, consistency is the key, that and avoiding the mayhem that comes from a pirouetting karts!!

lol as good as we were (phil and mark) doing 48 second laps or wernt in my case or my mate who did a two minute 27 second lap., still amazed by the kids in their own carts doing 80mph plus into the bends and drifting:agree: they looked about 6 to 8 yrs old. all future Lewis hamiltons.:) also tell you what my forears are killing lol

forears lmao ive invented a new body part... :rolleyes: forearms killing from gripping the stewring wheel so tight.

My arms were so fatigued that i could hardly even hold my coffee cup up in Starbucks! :laugh:

What a weed! That's 6 years of sitting on my backside teaching people to drive. Along with zero fitness training.

All ok this morning tho, main thing is my toes remained in one piece.;)
