Up to about £5000 on engine at the moment lol my bed room is full of new parts are lass is having a fit carbon bonnet and boot inlet engine parts waste gates etc all new learning curve but got a lot done in a short time 9s should be ok to start going for about 800 to start with then we will see how I get on

you seem to have removed all the nice bits from the inside of your car and fitted some builders pipes?

I held one phil and they are perfection.. And the block is as very serious as it looks this is Definatley a crazy machine in the right hands I personnally haven't seen something as crazy as this.. :agree:

I spoke to them about wings and bumper would be 6 weeks delivery at a cost of £700 and I don't think it will fit in my garage at home with them on lol might do a smaller wheel arch over Christmas get it up and running first can all ways get some later

I think I should be able to do something with bumper price one up from states £600 for bumper and wings but £600 shipping and then import and 6-8 weeks delivery

Cars at scoffs getting ecu and wiring loom made a front bumper to fit intercooler and turbo behind and this is how it's turning out so far

Picked car up from scoffs drives nice solid mounts vide rate throught car a bit but very punchy don't now what power it is but feel good to drive on round time to get some miles init clutch feels not to dad changers gear faster than clutch in. 5 so so far so good thanks to scoff as normal wiring loom is like factory to be fare you can't see it can't wait for some boost

Yes new sump gasket genuine one spoke to one of the lads at Honda said did you use sealant which I did he said that's why it split gasket so fit new one with no sealant happy days so far

Well done mate! Actually now that bumper is fitted it look gd, you should try putting some ally air defectors in the I side so the airbus forced through the I/c..

Can't wait for the rolling road vids at full chat n ill defo be at pod when u run for the 1st time ;)

:D:agree: cowling on my rad really made a difference on track with coolant temps so should imagine forcing it through the IC and not just pushing over/under around would work much better :agree:

Some of the cars in the states don't use coolers at all :D

i suppose 6-7 seconds of cold air doesnt do alot? then again more power the faster you go surely must be some benefit? or are they thinking the extra lag isnt worth it?

Chris millers car has no cooler at all straight in inlet from turbo

That goes against the train of thought that the cooler the air the denser it is, again tho like Tony says, if the blowers pushing 4bar+ then i don't suppose it matters.:D

I'm still quite shocked finding out that Chris miller doesn't use a cooler at all:laugh::scratch:

With E85, methanol or Q16 there is a lot more fuel going in, so cooling the air is less important.

485bhp at gate and 756 at 39psi but peak power is 9200 and did 756@ 8000 rpm got a misfire problem to sort out

No Dave thats gauge. We need to be at 50psi really. We did a pull with 41psi but the misfire was a real problem. Glenn is switching to some better coil on plug and we'll try again next week or whenever he's ready. :)

What coils are you going for? I ended up using cbr coils and a cdi box. Did you guys encounter any timing wander higher up the rev range from the epm? Did you try closing the gap up

Gone for k20 coils had the plugs down to .5 mm miller says to try them a .36 mm and the epm I will leave scoff to answer that one it was epm or spark at just over 8000

The EPM was wandering at high RPM which was making us hit the limiter a couple hundered RPM premature. We thought it was wheel slip on the dyno at first but it was the same at gate pressure so not that. The EPM isn't causing a big problem but it's timing should be more stable than it is. The misfire was us blowing the spark out for sure.

Gearboxes are super strong if preloaded when launching, street cars have gone low nines and hot rods have been high eights!!!!!!!!!

K series boxese are not so strong, not weak by any means though

Fair amount of turbo'd ep3 k20a with standard boxes running 400/500bhp without any issues. ;)

Hi Jon, the company (a large respected engine building company, but I wont name names on a forum) let him down. The first block lasted 40 miles without boost then a liner dropped 5 thou. The engine was stripped and the block shipped back to US. 6 weeks later it was returned after much hassle and expense. Glenn re-fitted and this time it lasted 26 miles!! It seems they hadn't bothered to remove and inspect the liner which had slipped, instead (it looks like) they re-decked the block and liner heights without checking for an underlying cause. So unsuprisingly it dropped another few thou. Once again it came apart and is currently heading its way back to the US for a refund. It's cost ££ in materials, fluids, gaskets, labour, import duty, etc etc.

A UK company is doing the next short block for him. Then maybe we'll get to tuning it properly, attempt no.4. Who said Honda's were the way to go :sad2:

Glen should come back and try and get the C1J into the 10's !

Wow, thats a bit bollocks. When shipping back and fourth to the U.S can be a massive pain in the backside as they sting you for import duty every time, I had this trouble with the engine mounts.

I have a friend and it´s having the same problem with the block, the block went back to US and it came back with the same problem :dearme: and at the end a Portuguese company solved the problem.
