Worth about half of that price tops
:eek:Wow, just think of what you could buy for 15K! Mind you if i was a lottery winner I wouldn't say no to it taking space up in my massive heated garage next to the Ferraris and Lambos etc:cool:
they have a 205 gti up for the same'ish price, for that price i would expect museum condition, and if i had the money i wouldnt hesitate to splash out
id say worth the money :)
£15k  It hasn't even got venoms on it :rob:
As nice as that is and as much as i love throwing my money away, i'd struggle going over £5/6k for that.
Rather have that than ferrari
id say its worth the money. These cars or even type of cars nowadays are rare, and have so much character, and if you think about it... there will never be these types of cars again. Nowadays the norm is becoming very refined even hybrid cars,, which are so dull.
I'm tempted to buy / part ex mine
The interior looks MINT,
Gotta be worth it - for the gear knob alone
I think its worth the money.
Out of interest, how much would a r5gtt cost new in todyas money:confused:
Fook that is low mileage... must be the lowest mileage example in existence! A lot of money tho' but I would if I could; my 5 is nearly at 21k which is a little too high for my liking ;)
very very nice ideed, like anything it's worth what someones willing to pay for it!
And by the sounds of it there's a few off us who would be willing if they had the cash. Don't think it will sell too quickly at that price tag tho.
It makes you realise just how much the sun fades an interior..... Mines not bad but this makes it look crap!
werent they £10.5k new???
Not saying this is right, but the link to 1986 Autocar article says £7,710.
http://www.autocar.co.uk/www.autocar...-Turbo/231054/
According to thisismoney.co.uk £7,710 in 1986 is worth £18,349.80 of your 2012 ££'s
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/b...nged-1900.html
That makes the £15k a bit easier on the eye!! :wasntme:
The pics in the ad have been given a lot of extra contrast, if you check out the dash there is quite a difference in colour of the upper parts (almost black) and say the centre console (light grey) they are almost the same colour in the advert.
It's interesting that quite a lot would now be prepared to pay that if they had it and though it's probably the best, lowest mileage example out there I prefer my white one :)
The main reason I posted it up was the exceptional price but also the exceptional mileage, it got me thinking about how many sub 20k cars there are out there? This one, the tungy from a year or so back, I think mine qualifies and Stevens. Any others?
If you bought it with that mileage..... would you ever drive it???? then the question is... whats the point? 100k miles driven and enjoyed everyday :D
I don't know if they count or not, but a lot of the Coupe's are on very low mileage, obviously! Mine's only done a few k, although that can't be verified 100%. Eugein bought his with a genuine less than 2k on the clock as well.
The thing is with them, they might only have done a few k, but they're all nicely battered :D. Eugein's was probably the straightest, most original one I've seen, before his incident at Cadwell :(
Got to say - regardless of the price etc - that is by far the most wonderful example I have seen for a while. And it's pure magic how someone has kept it in this condition.
Nice?
Nice?
Doesn't even come close.
Next raffle car?! :D :innocent:
What an absolute beauty!! Gorgeous!
I wonder how many more gtt's like this are out there hidden away in someone's garage.
It really is a fantastic example, I'm not sure many people would actually pay that much to be fair, a lot of people say they would if they had the money, but would you honestly?
If I had 15k to spend on a car it wouldn't be this I'm afraid.
I wonder how much they purchased it for? My guess is, a lot less than 15k;)
Now on ebay!!
Remember a nice Red R5 with low miles one owner ect. sitting on ebay for 10k for about 6months, think it was reduced in the end.
look at the expansion bottle looks like its due a headgasket:laugh:
Just saw this tonight & can't believe someone is asking that much yfor a gtt!?
I noticed the expansion bottle too :crap:
I know of this Black car and have seen it in the flesh. It is now only 20 mins up the road.
You could buy a C5 RS6 avant for that and tune it to well over 500 horses.
Or a renault 5 gt turbo...
Think id buy the audi and a cheap GT Turbo.
Not liking the look of the bottle on it also:laugh:
Just above the battery and below the window you can see paintwork bubble/rust.
I'd put my last penny on saying that rust isn't just there too. £15k.. it would have to of come from that showroom place in France with no miles on it to make me interested
And now the ripping it to bits begins :D I just thought that was lacquer peel, not great none the less. See my reply to Mike's post, I think we have all seen cars that look great in photographs which then turn out to be slightly disappointing in the metal. J510 looks great but she has her problems too.
Flins btw.
Flins..that's the one I was thinking of cheers!
The more I look at it the more I want it but not for that kinda money.
Whatever happened to OHM's (brynn's) car ? didn't that have less mileage ?
You mean that nice white 5 now owned by the original posting of this thread ;)
What happened to that phase 1 which had like 20k miles or something like that on the clock which was on the site ages ago
This one, even found a pic of it with Hoolios car back in the day ;)

personally i feel the car in question is a tad overpriced, if i was going to spend that sort of money it would be on a turbo 2 for sure, that said i do love it.....:D;), lovin the pics kris, gotta say the phase 1 is just way sexier if not more intersting than the phase 2..imo.
Oh, look what youve made me do ;) Whilst we.re on about nice ph1`s i remember this car from the old site

not to sure about paying out so much for a renault 5 bit much imo
:laugh:heres one for a old expensive car but saying that it is a pretty rare car though, nothing compared to the power of the rally version though
http://www.rally24.com/rally-cars-fo...y-car-687.html
also as its renault.........;):)http://www.rally24.com/rally-cars-fo...car-26080.html
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C291007 sold  did somebody really pay anything close to that
Most folk on here are busy talking the value of these cars down, yet on the flip side complain about the expense of the new parts, especially from Renault.
I think the sale of this car represents a bit of a landmark event for the Renault 5 GT Turbo.
Still for sale on eBay though.
Also another has propped up which we should remember

Is this an old members then? The advert is funny as looks anything but original to me under the bonnet:laugh:
Not many left lol theres thousands left still:sad2:
No not been in the rtoc circle as far as I'm aware, but was another hot topic when it popped up on eBay around 10 months ago or there abouts.
Looks like it never sold as its the same advert as it was back then.
10k in 6 months, hes been robbed.
This was the guy who owned the ferraris wasn't it?
Nice car though :agree:
So has that black one sold? At prices like that it's giving me ideas!! I could do a lot with a big pile of cash right now.
There is a big difference between perceived worth and people parting with their cash. It is very easy to say "if i had the money... etc." a bit different when you are counting out the 20's when you haven't won the lottery.
As the numbers of 5s dwindle we approach a watershed where the good ones will go up in value and the 'less good' ones will remain cheap.
I was very lucky finding the right car for me at the right time. Phoebe Ph1 is great and is having a little TLC to get her back to perfect condition, i see it as money well spent to keep her properly 'mint'. The history with every mile recorded in a little blue book is also a bonus but didn't affect what i was prepared to pay.
Well first of all nobody knows what it did actually sell for. I think the seller did a great job, probably bought it fairly cheap, gave it a service got it detailed and then had it photographed and all this by people who know what they are doing, then advertised it on their site which is clearly aimed at a certain market, just great marketing. Also it has the advantage of a single owner with low mileage, there are almost no others that fit that brief.
I think that Pearl car has been done to a very good standard and is worth £5k+.
I agree with the idea that good ones are going to go up in value, whether they are OE or not. The number of GTTs in excellent condition is dwindling and that means increased prices whilst there's still a demand for the car.
