There were a few reasons. "National Day", although has been with us for a long time, only means something to the older members. We want to attract new members to keep the club going well into the future.
Also, it's been associated with R5's, we don't know why but that has stuck - so we've tried to gear it more towards ANY Renault Turbo (but of course all cars are welcome as always). It'd broader, we want to grow it and make everyone feel welcome to join in.
The "Festival" side of it you will see. This year we're focusing much more on the evening's entertainment, rather than the daytime alone. It'll be fun :D
-
Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival
i think its a good shout on the name change, maybe we could sneak rtoc in the title somewhere though?

Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival

Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival
I remember us having a Thor hub dyno at one of the Santa Pod National Days (the one that featured on tv, with Mike Brewer). I can't remember how popular it was, but I remember Sparkie's phase 1 being revved to 9k, with a footwell full of spare belts

Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival
I'd like to take the 'farthest-attendee' award.
I'll travel from Budapest, Hungary.
Do not even know how far is it exactly. ;)
I'm not planning to drive on the track (I'll drive enough to get there) just would like to join the event and be able to park next to the other members.
Which ticket should I buy? I'll go with a friend.
-
Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival

(And I think Santa pod is also closer.)

Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival
Hi committee - I have friends who are non-members who do not own Renaults who would like to attend. I can see a link in the shop for non members entry + track time but the link does not work. Are non members still being permitted to attend?
-
Re: 28th July 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival
Yes , non members will be allowed to purchase tracktime at a higher price .We are not listing the tickets until the beginning of July though to give members chance to snap them all up first ;)
