RTOC 2012 trackdays are go! Oulton Park, March 2nd

Let's get the ball rolling with some (hopefully!) cracking trackdays for RTOC this year.

First one lined up is with our good friend Steve H @ TrackAction-Online - Oulton Park, Friday 2nd March, open pitlane format.

£130 per car/driver is the price, but Steve has kindly offered us the same deal as last time, in that for every five RTOC'ers that book/pay for this trackday, one full refund will be given back :cool: :)

Or in other words, it'll cost a group of five £104 per person (if my maths are upto scratch :D)

Also included in that price is free track tuition, should you need to dust off any track-driving cobwebs.

Steve will be along in a mo to confirm the extra driver/passenger prices, but if you have any other questions about the day, please fire away :)

Again, being on top of a weekend gives an opportunity to stay somewhere local on the night, and enjoy a few post-trackday :beer: with your fellow RTOC'er mates.

sounds great , have to check if it interferes with the test day at gurston down, if not , due to alisters wrong track day listings...:laugh: and that my good lady said she`d pay for it for xmas .. if its an available date , id love to do this...well done on the long notice mart!!...awesome , keep it up!!!...:D

I'll try and get a GTA back together for this .I have one that just needs heads and a subframe throwing together .

OK, so, extra drivers cost £35 and passengers £10, noise limit is 105db static.

Signing on will be from 7.30-8.30 when there will be a mandatory briefing, if you arrive later than this you will still be able to get on track but the next briefing will probably be at about 9.30 so you will miss out on some track time.

To book a place please go to OUR SHOP and when you book make sure you put RTOC in the comments box at the end of the booking, this will allow us to put you in for the draw. For every five places sold on here we will draw one name out of a hat a week before the event and give the lucky fella a £130 refund!

I had a great day out with you guys at Mallory last year and I'm hoping to be involved again for the ND at Blyton but in the meantime lets get a bit of momentum going and get some cars out on track at Oulton Park :satan:

I'll be there with Tony although I won't be running. I'll bring my helmet if some kind RTOC bods can give me a ride :D

Not daft at all Matt, everyone has to have a first time ;)

Basics are a car with some brakes and tyres and nothing leaking out of it, a normal driving licence and a helmet (you can hire the helmet on the day).

Start up another thread on here or do a search and there will be loads of information and advice, the only other standard thing I would suggest is that you take a free instruction session (these can be booked on the day), it will make you safer, faster and more relaxed about the whole day.

Best sort your oil leaks and swap that turbo or you will have a day in the pits :)

Marc I'll get them gaskets ordered Monday, I need you to take alook and suss were that oils coming from please:scratch: it's not alot but there's some it's all clean under there now not like last time:laugh:

Dude, if you've got a running car, you should still pop along & get on track. Trust me, you won't want balls out power running on track, as even if you've got slicks fitted you'll still be wheel-spinning/torque-steering coming out of the corners with anything over 200hp.

I found 1bar boost was more than enough in my old Raider.

Plug a standard aei in for now, and we'll see you there on the 2nd :agree:

I'm sure if you pop up for the day, there'll be plenty of pax laps on offer. There's a great bunch of people in this club, and after 10 minutes of being there/making yourself known, you'll kick yourself for not attending events before :D

Bring a track lid & I'll happily take you out for some pax laps in the Jap taxi :agree:

As Steve mentioned, a good set of brake pads (more so on the front) and good tyres all round are all that's needed to get you going on track, assuming everything else with the car is mechanically sound.

The more you get it into, the more you can tweak your car accordingly if needs be; eg, suspension, roll-cage, slicks, bucket seats, etc.

As I mentioned a couple of posts up, you don't need big power to give you grin factor 10 on track. Anyone can mash the throttle & drive in a straight line, but corners = Fun :)

I have a cage and bucket seats but do i NEED harness's for the track????:scratch:

I could not work out what the final price is? Is it £130 per diver and 1 in 5 gets there money back OR is 4 peoples cost splt between 5?

£130 pays for one car and one driver. If there are five bookings from the RTOC we will draw one name out of a hat and give the winner a £130 refund, ten bookings means two names refunded etc.

Fired up the five tonight, trade plates on brakes cleaned up, new engine at 10psi feels like it used to at 18psi. usefull having 4 full sets of rings :D Getting excited now :D

I guess this could be my first meet with you guys I don't trust my 5 enough yet to go on the track but I'm sure it will tempt me :-) I know it's not the norm but I will have my daughter with me if that's ok? Iv never been to this before. How much to watch and what time guys?

Plenty of places to spectate from, you'll be fine with your daughter, the only place under 16s can't go is in the pitlane (and on track!).

We'll be out on track from 9am.

I could get her a helmet and strap her in the back of the five lol she's on 11 months old she has her own harness :-) great count me in weather permitting

I cant wait either, tracking checked/adjusted, oil changed catch tank fitted head retorqued tappets set, bucket seat fitted made a subframe, checked everythings tight(suspension wise), boost upped to 11psi for now. Few spares....... ready to roll me thinks?

The funniest thing was.... 3 5s on track and all and all 3 of us ended up with something left on the track, i heard something come off mine but have no idea what it was. jubilee clip i think. Romil lost an alty belt and gibbo launched his spoiler across the track infront of me :D

Again... top top day out.

just got back not a bad day weather wasnt the best but a few dry spells in the morning and afternoon....my fuel sender unit decided to collapse thus for a weird reason cutting fuel....manage to whip it out but its knackered....got it running but car not happy did about 5 flyin laps.....suprised everyone.....good old trusy was on hand so the m3 did £90 fuel in also ollie was there in his evo 580whp....fastest car i have ever been in proper power machine and put the power dwn so well...:agree: gonna fix 5 glen got spare unit...and will do another trackday nxt week or week after need to give it some pain.....:)

Sadly my car retired with a gearbox leak mid-morning but with great weather and a wide range of cars on track all playing nicely it was still a really good day and nice to see some 5s out on circuit.

Heres a vid of me at 12.10ish, only just rebuilt engine so i was only running 11psi on a t28 lol plus i thought id goosed my turbo which ive since taken off and found ive got too much oil flow to the turbo? the return isnt getting rid quick enough :( im putting my one way valve back in and hopefully that will cure it. Anyway its only about 30seconds but thought id share it :D
