r5 gtt standard decals

right there folks, ive been in touch with a graphics firm(dmb graphics) in bromsgrove(west midland area) who do replica graphics for fords old and new, i was reading up on a series 1 rs turbo feature the other day and noticed the graphics for this car has the same sort of colour fading effect as our gtt's, seeing as i havent had any luck with local graphics firms with the ability to do fading(can only do solid) i thought id get in touch with them, so far its been pretty positive but i will know more in the next few days, i have mentioned a group buy with them so i aint forgotten about u lot

thing is i may need someone with standard decals attached to the car(mines off the road at the min) to maybe meet me at the actual graphics firm so they can get a sample

any interest?

I think i may have 1 side of the decals kicking about somewhere. Just had mine refitted and place that put mine on said it would be impossible to get the faded dot effect for the shading as modern printers just dont do it. They wouldnt even be able to copy them apparently so id be interested to see if it can be done.

if u can find a drivers side rear quarter sticker i would gladly take it off your hands if its for sale

i want a full back up set of decals tho, u just never know when u may need a set

Ill have a look see what i have, i have a feeling it is the drivers side i have somewhere.

the company down bromsgrove(dmb) said they have done a set for a gtt before, and that they would require a sample

so what i need now is a volunteer(west midland ish) to drive down to bromsgrove in their white gtt with standard decals, i will even pay your petrol and buy u a maccys, anyone wonna volunteer?

btw, no update on the decal front, must buy fmic for the datsun first

went into a local number plate company to get some new plates made for my pulsar, anyway they do graphics too, while i was there he logged onto www.renault5gtturbo.com and showed him the cars from the gallery section, he says there shouldnt be a problem producing the decals but he is gonna wait till monday to see what his graphics boy is saying

anyway if they can get the fade effect done well then im gonna go for a set, even if they cant do all them silly little dots

will update further on monday

provided examples of the graphics from gtt features in magazines to them, he seems confident they can pull it off, only time will tell

any outcome yet for these ???:)

With out wishing to tread on anybody's toes or anything, i have a set of original un fitted graphics that i borrowed at a local printers who used to work for 3m (the orginal printers)

He is giving me a quote for 10,15,20 & 25 sets to be made up, the graphics being made will be correct to the nearest dot.

I will keep people updated.

The main reason's for this is:

• These are not your normal car graphics, they are what the trade call "Screen Print's"
• Each & every single DOT is invidual, no 2 are the same....
• They can not be scanned/copied easily
• This is why the aftermarket graphics are one solid colour

Put it this way to replicate them down to each dot will be 2 weeks of graphics design...

So my car can do solid colour graphics but tbh there not much less than what i can get them from Renault....

So sorry guys i cant help, although i can order them for £120+vat from renault if you wish me to do so.

On a seperate note i have spoken to 3M in the UK, they no longer make them for Renualt atm, so 3M can not sell the design's or anything to members of the public. Renault own the copyright & pattern deisgn for these graphics & if they were to be replicated they would have to be atleast 10% different for legal reasons.

so theres no way of contacting renault uk about this ???:)

The Grey band: this will be cut grey vinyl (or what ever colour is needed)
The GT Turbo wording: Cut red vinyl (or what ever colour is needed) stuck on top, in the correct place obviously
The Fade: digitally printed solid faded block of red (or what ever colour is needed) please see attached pic of how it might look

For a one off print and fitting costs they have quoted me £60 so a group buy and no fitting they reckon about £40 A SET as a max!

i recently bought a genuine set AGAIN for my gtt, the only way these will ever grace my car again is if all the bodykit came back off the car so they can be stuck on properly, so for now these will just live in the wrapper

I understand the physical and legal difficulties with producing the side decals, but what happened to the rear window stickers that there was talk about?

I take it those are originals from Renault mate?...............very nice they look too.......tell me though, what are the ones I've seen where the "GT TURBO" lettering is repeated underneath the logo in like a shadow effect?....are they non originals?.......It doesn't take much to confuse me at the best of times, but this has got me well and truly baffled.........

i will taking a trip to bromsgrove to a company called dmb graphics and they specialise in ford graphics, the reason im trying them is because the s1 rs turbo decals has similar fade effects as the gtt decals

since i bought another set of genuine decals(which wont grace my car lol) i have taken my foot off the gas trying to hunt someone down to replicate some

The decals come rolled up, you could get the packet they come in inside a tissue box.

Mine can as JRP memtioned arrived in carboard and brown tape, but I get mine from overseas. I can do a deal on them, not as good as Penfold's. Would need a min order of 5. There are several different part numbers depending on the colour of the car or the decal style you want.

i have no problem with a set knocked up in someones garage but i dont wanna pay anywhere near Renault money..

if Mike could do a decent deal for a group buy on OE i might be interested, car has to be painted and will need decals.. im all ears..

Ok, I have made a few calls. New OE decals RRP are £202 inc vat from Reanult, if we buy 5 sets we can get them for £180 inc vat, not the worlds biggest saving but I have tried my best. I will need payment up front and for all 5 sets.

Hi Mike, I would take one of the sets, for a black gtt, at £180 and don't mind paying up front. Thats one down four to go!

I need a set so that's 2.

I will have a set for ph2's. so thats 3 sets..

Right people,

I have spoke to my friend at Renault, New year price's have changed but i can get any ph2 sticker set for £145+ vat, so thats £170 to my house in ashford.

I am willing to send them out for the cost off postage (would be rolled in a tube and removed from Renault packaging) or could collect from my house or from myself at an RTOC event.

WOW guys! These stickers seem to be a huge issue!!! Right, if you send me all the relevent information, i.e colours, sizes etc etc and if someone (penfold) can lend me a set, i'll see what i can do for you all!The stickers Not Decals ( Decals use water) would have been originally screen printed, but with the tech now days ie scanners and digital printer im sure i can get the stickers to almost original quality! The only problem with digital printing though is you cant print white or silver ink!

Yeap I can do, Im not a trader on here so i have to be careful! But basically I can pretty much do anything!I can take a full colour picture of Pamela Anderson (If shes your type) and print her accross the bonnet of your car! Obviously the picture has to be good enough quality to start with, and made sure the picture is'nt copy wrote! Im doing alot of this carbon wrapping at the moment, when i get a chance i'll post some pics on my profile of work i have previously done.

whats the latest on the stickers, is the best option still with the renault sets at £170 each?

No color fade out which is done by lots of little dots on the original ones, i think :scratch::)

no longer available from Renault.... yes they are!!

£175 inc vat if brought through me... or get a very nice discount from Renault!

I never got a reply for JIB about these :( Also have spoken to my friend at renault today, they are (171.55 +vat) so thats £202 as mike said, even with my discount I struggle to get a better price than mike, Although I was told that

RED logo....all CAR colours exept BLACK ......7701205887
RED logo......................................BLACK car 7701205888
SILVER logo.............................................. ....7701205889

Were all available in the UK and were priced the same...

He did mention that prices would go up in January due to VAT increase and in general parts were expected to rise in cost by 10% minimum.

Beware one Renault system has these numbers the wrong way round can be an expensive mistake as they can't be sent back if they are sent from overseas.

Oh interesting, I know 7701 205 887 are correct as I have them in my kitchen atm, Hopefully the ones for the black will come in ok, if not Renault can go and do one, they supply the wrong part... fingers crossed.

I ended buying all 3 sets to compare them for myself.

what about ph1 decals,can you get a good discount on them??as im wanting a set for my black ph1(depending on price)

They where almost double the price of the Phase II last time I ordered a set.

trust me , i had two sets of these....genuine, they are sold per side and come to approx £450....:eek:, i won a set on e bay france for £87.00 and the other wernt as bad as the latest price but i did wince....:laugh:, good luck in your quest...:)
