PPC in the park 18th May 2013
Myself and Ross have been in contact with the event orgainisers at ppc magazine, because there seemed to be some interest in the event .
We have got us a club stand there and the good news is that the club don't have to buy any tickets so no financial risk.
So all you have to do is go on there site http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/ and its called in the park. Now if you want your car to be on the RTOC stand which hopefully you do:), then follow the link to buy a ticket then on the order conformation page it gives you an option to leave a note well in that box put that your with RTOC and thats it. I hope we can get as many people as we can there and have a good laugh maybe a bbq or something please once you have ordered put your name down on this thread thanks guys:agree:
Entry ticket £15 (in advance plus a free t-shirt on the day)
Track time £20 per 15 minute session
Passenger £10 per person
Camping (Friday and/or Saturday) £10 per person per night – Saturday night is a 70’s theme party
Autotest £10 for 5 runs
Children under 16 FREE

No its not free Kev.
£15 entry fee.
Just gone to book my tickets and track sessions and the track time has already sold out
My own fault for not booking earlier but I'm still mega hacked off.
might just take the phase 2 now if I'm not going to be pasting anything around the track.

That's gonna be awesome, retro overkill:agree:
For all those humming and scratching there balls about this, this may possibly be one of the last oportunities for you to get onto Mallory. This is the best track I've been on and possibly being shut down this year. So if you are thinking about it, do it as you may not have a chance next year. I'm getting teary thinking that this may possibly be the last time I will be able to exit 'devil's elbow':sad2:

Re: PPC in the park 18th May 2013
A late reply perhaps but what a great day out :D
Really enjoyed myself and met some great people. I've never seen more than one renault 21 turbo in the same at the same time, so to see 5 on the stand was pretty cool. To be honest I really quite fancy a quadra.
Spoke to some great people and managed to talk renault for hours.
Big thanks to Chris for making this happen. You're a legend buddy :agree:
Roll on national day now :smokin:

No problem, just don't try to copy any of it. It has been proven over the last 10 years, that stuff I touch / do usually breaks.
-
Re: PPC in the park 18th May 2013
The Talbot Sunbeam was immense in every sense. That ran a 55 second lap when we timed it.
-
Re: PPC in the park 18th May 2013
If you want to see the Talbot driven in anger he will probably be at the Barbon hill climb on 15th June.

Re: PPC in the park 18th May 2013

5 complaining locals - I mean, the park has been there since the 1950's, what did people think the environment would be, building a house near a historic race track?

Noise.
Apparently Mallory agreed to only run X days , but frequently over run that number.
I still cant believe that people move near a racetrack and complain about noise. Madness.

Nope. All plug and play. I have:
Adaptronic 420C
Serial extension cable with a M:M adapter into...
Bluetooth transmitter (Or netbook/laptop without the M:M adapter)
Techedge WB02 2AO (http://wbo2.com/2a0/default.htm) with a VW 6-wire lambda and another serial cable into the serial in port of the 420C
The only 'made' wiring is from when Scoff installed the unit. ie, the engine loom. I originally wired it up by unsoldering a plug from an OE ECU board, joining the adaptronic wires to the unsoldered pins and plugging it into the engine loom of the car. It worked, but not as well as I hoped (as I was originally going to use the ECU across 3 cars with the same loom plug).
Five years later (lol) I get my shizzle together and get Scoff to do it properly with a 36-1 triggerwheel, 8 injector capable and hardwired in to the Quadra. If I want one in my Fuego i'll buy another lol :)
Lemme know if you want linking to the bits and settings I used :)

Cheers Dave - I'll have a word with Scoff when I'm ready to do this. I have a few things in the pipeline atm before this. Classy bit of work there fella. I have the 440 select, so no sieriel port, mini usb instead. I was majorly impressed with Jann's install in his Twingo last week in Belgium, he has a Tablet permanently installed recording and controlling stuff, very tech.
Thanks again.

Yes I was considering dropping the whole dash and instrument cluster out and replacing it with an Android tablet. The thing(s) that stopped me is the warning lights and fuel gauge, plus all the other priorities for the car.... such as stopping the rust, fitting the big brakes, and finishing off the engine i've spaffed seven grand on so far lol
