North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Just want to gauge interest in a Rolling Road day for the North East / Yorkshire lot. I have spoken to Motorscope in Northallerton, and they would offer enough spaces for 30 - 40 cars (we need 20 minimum).
http://www.motoscope-online.co.uk/ They have a new 4wd setup which will give Power v's Torque v's boost v's AFR plots.
The cost would be £35.00 per car all in.
The idea is to get a good number of Turbo charged Renos V's Some N/A Clio Sports. Should be a good laugh?
Provisional date is the 30th of November (just over 3 weeks).
Please can you add your name to the list below if you fancy it, if we hit the required minimum number of people I will confirm the booking and ask you to book your place over the phone (with Motorscope) to confirm that the event will go ahead.
If this is a goer I'll try and get a magazine along as we had Pgti there last time and they did a good write up http://www.cliosport.net/forum/image...es/smiley4.gif
Cheers Ashy.

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Lomo was telling me to get my butt to this yesterday at Oulton :D
I am on a heavy night out on the 29th which is not great preperation but if I can sort my oil leak on the turbo which has come back this morning I will try to make it up for a cheeky run. See if my recent tweeks have pushed a bit more out :)
Can't commit to it just yet though so prob best to leave me off the list for now. Also need to confirm the points to strap the vx down - don't want them hurting her LOL
-

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Right, Event now confirmed and deposits are required. We need £10.00 per car so that I can book this in with Motorscope.
In order to control this we have set up 30 deposits in the RTOC shop which cost £10.00 each to buy, when you purchase a ticket please can you PM me your details so we can match up who has bought a ticket with the shop sales and add you to the list.
In the event that we haven't had 15 deposits by Tuesday next week the deposits will be returned to you.
Link for the RTOC club shop is http://rtocshop.simplewaysolutions.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22&products _id=75
Cheers Ashy.

-
Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Why do you ask Mud? Fancy putting your ar on?
The facts of the matter are there is a 15 car minimum requirement so less than that and it wont go ahead hance asking for deposits.
We have 4 deposits so far so not doing too bad considering they only went live a coupl of hours ago :)
-
Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net

Mud, imo you won't find better rollers and as accurate as rolling roads go for the money. The guy that runs it is spot on and has a genuine interest. I would get your car on which i presume will be your 3rd time on different rollers since your engine has been sorted and take an average from them all.:agree:

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Dave, you could arrange to meet Jaffa and Glen on the M1, I guess Haz and Scoff will be joining the A1 at Leeds somewhere too? And Clee will be coming up from your neck of the woods too. Plus Steve and Tubby 5 are coming up from York....
In terms of start time it will be 9 or 10ish depending on the final number of cars, but I'll confirm that once its all booked up tomorrow / wed :)

330bhp!! why am i failing to beleive that:confused: im not doubting it at all,its just you dont see many[if any?] 5s making that sort of power.
im assuming if it is making this power its not on a day to day basis though? right?

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Thanks to Ashy and the guys for organising a top day! Even the run up/down was superb! Well, all apart from losing my car outside the RR place as we left and mounting the curb ending up on the grass, knocking my steering out and damaging one of my wheels. Devastated!
Anways, good to get the car on the rollers and see how accurate Renaults figures were, and to be honest, they were pretty good! :)... Equally as good to see everyone again and roll on the next even whatever it may be..HOWEVER, if the roads are slightly damp I'm jumping in with someone! :)........ well, maybe....:)
-
Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Yeah Great day, thanks to everyone who turned out, struggled to get 15 deposits then 25 turn up on the day :D
I think Glen made 194bhp at 24psi then put a canny bit of the laughing gas up it bum and it nearly climbed out of the rollers!!
Pleased with mine 238bhp at 10psi :)
Mint.

nice day, too cold but good turnout non the less, top work by all
I thought muds car was going to pull the rollers out the floor, its got some gonads :)
glenn's car was interesting to watch, I've never heard such a change in engine note when gas comes on, it was like a doubling of torque instantly, how that held together I don't know. well done :)

Cheers Scoff , 270bhp was a bit of a surprise really , was pretty pleased though :D
the car defo has an issue with the boost control that may need changing to the old trusty bleedvalve and also the rev limit needs upping so there should be more improvements , another 450+ miles on it aswell with no probs what so ever :)
i never had the camera today forgot to lift it :( anyone got vids of mine on the rollers?
some very interesting 5's on show today :agree: loving the V6 Clio (lomos i think) very nice m8  and the reno van total sleeper, looking sweet with the willy rimms:cool:
was impressed with the red 5 that was 240+ i think ,maybe Haz's it's peak power was up in the 7k's :agree: thats where i want mine
Not alot i can say about the 330bhp Nos monster  it was just mental :smokin:

glenn, can you update your profile so we can see what spec your engine is.? id like to know whats been done to it :)

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Raj there were C1J's there making more power without Gas, one R5 made 240bhp without Gas! I wouldn't get too concerned about what has been done to the engine, Jaffa ran nearly 300hp on a new standard engine when he used Gas. Glenn has a very good Nitrous setup and with that anything is possible (as long as the engine holds together)!

lol, its just abit suprising thats all. as you say if it holds together its very possible.
i on the other hand would be shatting myself:D.
not out to knock anyones achievements but when it comes to nos im not really that interested, im more interested in cars that produce good power without the help of the laughing gas:)

yeah i understand what u r sayin and agree if u have the time then better to get the most without nos.....but when u have experienced the sheer extra torque+accelaration nos gives u then u will find it hard to go back :)

mud, aii something funky happening with your boost control, maybe something to do with the responce of the solenoid and/or the gain settings. bleed valve sounds good ;)

The boost readings appeared to be a bit higher on their equipment than what guys i spoke to said they were running as well.

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
Looking at mine what its done is said 10psi but really it peaked at 10psi @ 3500 rpm then it settled down at 7psi by 5000rpm so it actually made peak power at 5800rpm @ 7psi...

That would tally with me ..about 2psi up ?

I thought the rollers were pretty good .....tallied with some of my other tests :agree:

Re: North East & Yorkshire RR day 30th November RTOC v's CS.net
i have always used them , and find them as good as any i have been to .
Question is , is anyone ever happy with a rolling road, there always seems to be a grumble that this or that is wrong at these events. Its all about the crack for me , more of a social gathering than a proving ground.
Lets not take away the fact it was a good get together to break up the summer events :p

mines was 20 bhp up on the power i made the week before on the same make of rollers(dastek) but id say that warpspeed was closer to what i had at AVA not far off each other .
still im not complaining ;):D if it had been 20 hp less then id have been worried :crap:
and as others have stated its good to see how other cars compare on the day :)

Same here, The Glanza reads just short of 10PSI on the Autometer boost gauge, 12 psi on the rollers:)
