Still waiting for mine but I suppose they'll be here by next week.
They were all posted the same day Ioannis .I would think it will be with you this week .Let me know if not :agree:
Cheers to all members involved in These dials.:agree: Its enough to make you feel all emotional. :)
How have peoe removed the little rivets that hold the dial fascias on? With the clear plastic bit or prized them up from the front and left the plastic light guides behind? I don't want to break them. Is there a better way of pushing them through from behind? Thanks!
OK guys, here's my 10 minute fitting guide!! :D
Remove the clocks from your car and you will see the clips on the top and bottom of the clocks which you will need to CAREFULLY prise up to remove the plastic screen from the clocks
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1687.jpg
Once you've got the cover off the clocks take a picture of ALL the clocks in detail so you can reference where the needles need to point. Ray had a good idea earlier in this thread of making a paper stencil to mark the needle position :niceone: BE AWARE that the needles on the dials will rest in different positions depending upon if you have the dials standing up or laying on their backs!! However you take the picture you need to be sure that's how you re-fit the needles!
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1688.jpg
First we'll do the Tacho & Turbo Gauge. The Speedometer gauge is the same as this. After you have taken your picture to see where the needles need to point:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1695.jpg
Get yourself a fork out of the kitchen drawers & CAREFULLY fit it underneath the needles and making sure you keep the leverage on the needles so you're pulling them vertically off the dial shafts remove the needles. You'll find some of them come off easier than others so be careful!
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1698.jpg
Once you've got the needles off you need a VERY FINE flat screwdriver to undo the dial removing screws on the face of the dial. Be careful not to scratch the screws too much by using the wrong sized screwdriver as you'll have to look at your mistakes every time you drive the car!! A few scratches can be touched up with a Black Marker! ;)
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1699.jpg
Once you've undone the screws, remove the dial face then re-fit the new one and then re-assemble in reverse order!!
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1700.jpg
Next we'll do the FUEL, OIL & TEMPERATURE GAUGES. :D
To sucessfully replace these dials you need to remove each one individually from the clock housing. Each dial is held in by three small copper 6.5mm nuts and copper washers. Carefully undo the nuts and make sure that the washer's don't make a run for the floor as they have a habit of doing!! You can see the three nuts that hold in each small dial here:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1702.jpg
Once you've un-done the three nuts you will find that the individual dials come out of the dash surround pretty easily:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1707.jpg
MAKE SURE YOU take a picture of the dial to remember where the needle goes at this point!! Remove the needle using the same Magic Fork Method as mentioned above. Now comes the real Fun Part :crap:
To enable you to change the dial faces on these small dials you need to remove these pesky rivets:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1703.jpg
I've found that the best method of doing this is to get yourself a pair of GOOD long nosed pliers! :niceone:
First of all place one tooth of the pliers on the underneath of the rivet then the other tooth of the pliers beside the head of the rivet BUT NOT ON THE HEAD, therefore allowing you to squeeze the pliers and slightly push the head of the rivet out of the dial housing:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IMG_1704.jpg
Once you've got the head of the rivet off from the front of the dial face get your long nosed pliers gripped around the head of the rivet and pull the rivet out WHILST TWISTING THE PLIERS AND THE RIVET IN AN ANTI-CLOCKWISE direction!! You'll see when you remove the first rivet that you have to work with the "thread" on the rivet to remove it.
Onve both rivets are out you can then re-fit the new dial face and then just re-fit the rivets into the housings by squeezing them back into the housing with the pliers but this time putting one of pliers teeth onto the head of the rivet.
Repeat this action for the other two small dials & then you're done.
Final step is to just stand back & admire your handywork!!! :D :yeah:
BTW My finger is Copywritten!
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of that 'handywork'

whilst people have there clocks apart can they tell me how many bulbs are in the clock display and if possible the codes for the bulbs so I know what ones to get as I want to redo the whole lot as mine is dull:cry:
Do you have a lot of lamps taken off the blue wire after the dimming resistor? That can make them less bright.
WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!
Don't be going to Renault you NARNA's!! E-bay's your friend!!
Fork method looks awesome Steve:laugh:
As for bulbs go & get a load for free from your local scrappy!
i too would liked to know which dash bulbs to buy but maybe in amber led for a high intensity look.?
do the dash clock not have 2 or maybe 3 types of bulbs fitted?
fitted mine the other day, not the best pic but you get the idea. They look alot nicer in the daylight :)

Big thank you to Big Steve and Clee!!!!!!!
Dials turned up this week and look superb. Top work fellas:agree:
Still waiting for mine...
:crap:
I think we can assume that it is not going to turn up now .I don't have any more sets .We will be getting some more .I'll get the ball rolling on that .
I can refund you or you can wait for the next batch ?
im waiting for the next batch :)
OK, Regarding a new batch, I've asked Lockwood to make some but I was intending to have the Km/h dial included in the same print.
So to do that I need an original Euro speedo dial.
I've had a look at eBay France and there was nothing there. But eBay Netherlands does have what looks like a reproduction kit already for sale.
Can someone please translate this German advert better than the on-line translator. It does look a bit like the photo is of originals as they look a bit faded.

Bable Fish version:
Please only exactly read and with the existing Tachoscheiben compare articles, in order to avoid wrong order! * Type/model: Renault R 5 GT turbo * Bj.: - * Color: Tachoscheiben black/numbers orange * km/h - upm: 220/7000 * TÜV: not necessarily * Transmitted light technology: yes * Transillumination: orange analyzes * Material: Plastic…. no foil!! * Characteristic: comparably with original equipment manufacturer quality * Assembly instruction: yes * Manufacturer: DZcentro - quality since 1981 * Warranty: 10 years free conversion warranty (with exfoliation of the color)
There's little point is us making and selling those if they are already available.
Though I guess I'd buy those Dutch ones if they were original but if they are copies they maybe a little different, so I don't want to copy a copy. Unless it's an exact copy.
They are a lot cheaper than ours to, at about £18 plus postage.
I looked through all 1086 items listed there under 5 GT Turbo, but no original dials.
Ian,
I have already sent a genuine Euro speedo dial to Steve.
Dunc
Hi Duncs,
When did you send that?
Cheers.
Yes
They are the same as the first batch but now included is the km/h speedo dial as well as the mph speedo.
