Great stuff mate can't wait to see the results how much extra power would you like to find with your new setup over last years efi set up mate :agree:

I cant believe how much wider it looks. Fantastic work.
Car pased mot today all legal for the road now taxed and ready to go
A few traffic light practices then? I can only imagine how brutal that thing will be on the road. Excellent stuff.
It will be ok to take my mum shopping in :D
Nice one glen :agree: cant wait to see this in the flesh!
Tonight we spent 6hrs on the dyno with Glenns HI5 C1J :)
The spec has changed somewhat, we knew it would be better but we did not know exactly how much better it was going to be. The improvement is just staggering, I can barely believe the results.
The evening starts with the usual part throttle/low load mapping which wasn't a million miles away from last years tune. Initial boost was about 10psi and with a bit of fine tuning I had that up to 150hp or so. 17psi saw about 200hp if I recall. 21psi made about 240hp @ 7000rpm. What's really interesting is that at 30psi the engine was still responding well to small boost increments. Last years motor did not make much extra power after 33psi and at 36psi the power was dropping off at higher RPM because it just couldn't breath all that well.
This time at 36psi we were making comfortably over 300hp and each 1psi increase was returning a notable power gain. The final result was 341hp @ just shy of 40psi boost. 279lb/ft of torque.
Some of the more skeptical will want to question the dyno result, and that is fine, I would probably do the very same. So let me tell you this: the engine is taking 95% duty from 560cc siemens deka injectors @ 3bar fuel pressure. Thats an 044 pump and fuel pressure is holding perfectly. Last year we managed about 80% if I recall. The injector duty calcs correspond with the dyno HP give or take.
Unfortunately 2 bent pushrods put an end to play late in the evening, I would have liked to try a full 3 bar of boost since the motor was still responding to increases. No spare pushrods to hand so that was that.
Hopefully next week we can think about tests with nitrous.
Hats off to Glenn for building a bomb proof motor, etc. Lets hope it does the numbers at the track too.

Mint top night just got home 2 am thanks scoff for staying up late. top work on the mapping as normal. boost was insane. turbo, love it. I am going to bed. carny wait to see it on gas lol
Congratulations, Top Work, canīt wait to see the results with Gas :)
bloody hell great results there and to see it keep climbing at higher psi defo proves the new set up works :) congrats on a top build :D
Brilliant - I wonder if you can still get those grp A push rods from years ago, I think Collin had some, erm specially comissioned
That is fantastic for the C1J - well done Glen:agree:
Good old C1j telling us all to '**** off' as usual!!
Well done matey, just awesome.:agree:
amazing, and good stuff, hats off to you , the engine bay looks amazing.
Very impressive setup should be a good year for GTT's on the 1/4 this year. :smokin:
wow for getting a GT30 to spool on a a little 1.4 without the NOS :D
****ing awesome mate!!! Does the power fall off after 8k or are you limiting the rpm for reliability? Looks very strong at the top
Love this car!! Soo fresh wish mine looked like that still:crap:
:agree: Wow !!
That is one special C1J!
Well done Glenn on building an insane c1j!:D
Well done Scoff on a fantastic tune!:agree:
Pesky push rods!
Anything in hand with regards to stronger push rods?
Wow!! Really good stuff guy's, some top work there :agree:
Looking forward to seeing this beast at pod.
Impressive stuff lads :agree:
great news and well done mate absoloutly amazing cant wait to see it
and without gas :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Nice build bud..;)
Outstanding Work Glenn The Ultimate C1j In The World:d And To Scoff For He's Mapping Skills, Fanstactic News :)
Just been out on the roads near home in it it's a animal lol carnt wait to see what it's like on gas had to come home before I loss my licence cheers for all nice comments
Epic.
Surelly you dont want to just be using standard pushrods again ?
i got these 1's made for mine
https://www.rtoc.org/boards/picture.p...pictureid=4634
really makes me want to stick a bigger blower on mine , although i doubt id go anywhere near the size you are running , you are making 80hp more than mine made with T25 which ran out off puff at around 30 psi , Im guessing the big turbo will come into its own when you start running the Gas .
How long before that turbo sucks in a coil pack :p
Any testing planned over easter glen?
Mud, don't show him those, they're shiney and fancy, he'll want them right now :D
Yes maybe some better rods are needed. It used to be that we considered them a 'fuse' since it would often crack retainer caps too, and they would be evident whenever a rod needed changing. It has Ti retainers now so I think he should probably go for something like that. :)
they were not really expensive tbh , i sent over a standard 1 to a V8 drag racing specialist in America not sure what they were called it was a while ago now but il try find out , At the time i couldve had 200 made but just decided to get 8 ,the head does need altered though.
Are they steel or titanium? I've often thought about doing the same, but it only takes 2 minutes to swap a bent one (if you dont mind singed fingers) so didn't sort it out! Any CNC place / machine shop should be able to spin some up in a lathe?
Nice motor Glenn!
Freakin awesome Glenn! An excellent effort mate. I look forward to seeing this on the strip again.
Personnally id say if your bending pushrods its down to to much rev's , and i think with the power and rev's Glenns is making he will forever be bending rods, they are ti pushrods which have been through a toughening process ,i use ti retainers and ive had all the rocker arms toughend so if anything is going to bend or break it will be the rocker assembly where it is fixed to the head that is cast .
Nothing to do with rpm and I don't really want ti ones neather not to worry carry on with standard ones I think thanks anyway
so are we saying its cylinder pressure that causes it? is it intake or exhausts that go usually or a mix of rods?
9 times out of 10 it's high revs and valves bouncing but not this time so must be cylinder pressure ?
its probably something to do with asking too much from the pencil tin push rods..
I remember the 1st time i used the gas, i bent 1 on the first run, changed that, and bent all 8 on the next :) i just put it down to cylinder pressure, as i never used to rev mine past 7.
I did uprate them after that though and never had a problem since.
vid for ya

Yes ok engine is in just collecting parts to finish it of
