Re: plans for the winter/new year
which one off here are you going to look at matey? iv seen that nice pearl white one up for sale.
yeah my back is driving me insane mate cant do bloody anything feel useless :( hardly getting any sleep hence me posting on here at silly o clock.
bodywork wise iv got a different bonnet and drivers door to fit and paint plus a different set of morettes to fit and paint. then there is a couple of bits around windscreen and a bit on the roof plus the drivers outer sill is bubbling up a little bit so will get that sorted at same time.
going to relocate the battery to boot and if the engine comes out for any reason i will tidy the engine bay up myself
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Wish it was the pearl White one! Lol bit outa my price range tho. Salty blade pm'd me to see if I was interested in his red one, seems solid from his progress thread and engine's bin refreshed recently, doesn't want alot for it too and it has 9month tax and test, think it wud be a great project. Think it just wants a respray so might get it dun if I buy it, get r lasses uncle to to do it. He has just sprayed his dodge dart and looks mint!. Have a look at salty blades thread if your bored let me know wot u think, he got it off another member on here but can't remember his name. Hope ya back on ur feet soon buddy

Re: plans for the winter/new year
little bit of an update, going get out and fit the bjr downpipe/elbow on weds and also get the 1st stage put back to standard on my carb wont be driving the car after to test it though its its parked away for winter.
Been speaking to scoff and were looking at late march to get my megajolt fitted and mapped ill also have my new exhaust system made and fitted before this time
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
fitted the bjr downpipe and put the 1st stage back to standard on the carb yesterday, first job once i take my car out is to get the new 2.5" system made to fit the downpipe.
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
booking car in with longlife stockport to get the full 2.5" system fitted on 21st jan, will be a nice chance to give the car a bit of a drive as its not moved since mid december and ideal to check the fuelling since changing 1st stage back to standard on carb.
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
I fancy a bigger 2.5" exhaust myself blunty .... How much that gonna set you back if you dont mind me askin fella ?
Also interested in a mapable ignition system ... should help the midrange for sure and general driveability ... will keep a eye out how you get on ... what parts are needed to have a go at this... ???
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Ay up mate hope your well? the system is costing £389 ill make sire i get some vids of it but remember to take into account i have a tubular manifold on there so have lost the burble:-(.
I will post you the link to the site and exactly what you need of there when im on my laptop later on
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
I'm ok thanks mate , will be good to see how you get on , fancy a few more mods myself if I can manage the time.
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
no probs fella ill be sure to update the thread and might even make a separate thread on the results of mappable ignition :)
anyway here is the stuff required off http://www.trigger-wheels.com/store/...en-uk/d59.html
You want:
Load sensor type: MAP sensor
EDIS Kit: 4 cylinder
Trigger wheel: None - I can do the light-weight wheel and C1J bracket/sensor combo
Coilpack bracket: Up to you, perhaps you can make your own, but for £17.50 you might as well buy one of theirs.
Harness kit: No
Spark plug leads: 4 cylinder
Crank sensor bracket: No
USB Adaptor: No, unless you need one and fancy being able to fiddle the ECU afterward
Tacho driver: No
That lot seems to come in at £261, plus P&P I guess.
Then you'll need the trigger wheel, C1J bracket and matching sensor which I do to members for £60.
the above was sent to me courtesy of scoff

Re: plans for the winter/new year
off to longlife this saturday to get the new 2.5" system made and fitted, should be interesting to see the difference with the bjr dp/elbow and new system. Also will give me chance see how its fuelling since putting the 1st stage back to standard :)
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Nice one mate! Pleanty of pics and maybe a vid of how it sounds :agree:
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year

Re: plans for the winter/new year
Make sure they don't use any bit of your old system like a firm did with my old car, some places find it hard to make the flange which bolts to the downpipe so they used a section of my old Scorpion, lost me a few bhp:(
Be good to see pics of it when done though :agree:

-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
well guys am off to longlife today so will have a few pics and vid later on for you all.
went out to my car last night re connected battery and it started on the 2nd turn was a bit groggy for 1-2 mins but totally fine from there on. Left it to warm up for another 5 mins then took it for a bit of a shakedown managed to glance at the fuelling and it seems better noticed around 11.3-11.4 on full boost, i never went above 4.5 k though so will have a proper check once this system is fitted.
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
At longlife now cant take any pics unfortunately as you aint allowed in the work area. Fount out my scorpion system was only 2" bore
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Should make a big diff with the new system on then, how long did they say it would take?. Get pics up asap
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Well just got back to stoke system sounds gorgeous would be even better if had standard exhaust manifold on. I have got a vid ill transfer it to photobucket and see how it sounds. Fuelling is defo sorted now around 11.4-11.5 wot. One thing for sure is i cant get grip in any gear once boost comes in whilst its wet
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Nice one buddy sounds good! Get vid and pics up lol, got a price for mine today £335 from exhaust uk
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year

-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Cool mate, is it Outword rolled? Bet it sounds awesome! Dus it feel diff with the new system and bjr downpipe?
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year

-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Nice one buddy! A great mod then :agree:
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
been out for a drive to cheadle this morning 22 mile round trip, mostly national speed linit roads as well ;), all i can say is since sorting the fuelling plus the dp and new system its a whole diff car even the mrs says it feels quicker defo gained some torque thats for sure

Re: plans for the winter/new year
Black Light is pretty impressive. I bought some last year, along with some V7 sealant to go on the top, but haven't tried the V7 yet.
Let me know how you get on with the Butter Wax. That could be one of my next purchases. I REALLY like Chemical Guys stuff
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
brilliant fella, i opted against the V7 as im a bit old school and like a good wax :).
i defo let you know what the wax is like its meant be really good
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
I'm the same, I much prefer a decent wax. I bought the V7 to use as a quick detailer/top up between waxes :smokin:
-

cant fault you in that sense matey, iv got some detailer here think its muc off stuff its really good.
wax wise iv been using either ag hd wax or dodo juice supernatural hybrid so will be good compare the cg butter wet wax to them
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
My favourite wax is DoDo Blue Velvet. I've tried the standard SuperNatural, and tbh the Blue Velvet is MUCH better on my car. I'd like to try the AG HD stuff, as it's supposed to be impressive. I also fancy trying some of the Swissvax waxes as some point
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
i will be honest the ag hd wax is more durable than the dodo sn hybrid, and it seemed to have better beading qualities. its a very good wax for the money thats for sure.
iv not tried the blue velvet but i have heard its rather decent, swissvax do some great stuff, also check out autobrite
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Yea, I'd probably use the HD wax before a winter, for it's durability. I've never looked at any Autobrite stuff - I'll add it to the list :D
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
good idea there bill iv heard good things about the cg 50/50 as well.
am hoping get my car cleaned/polished and waxed tomorrow as the weather looks like its going to be dry (fingers crossed)
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
Come on then we dont want to see pics of wax we want to see the exhaust

Re: plans for the winter/new year
not much to report as my car has been covered up since the last pics i put up. but i last night won something on ebay that iv wanted for a while
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007193592...#ht_500wt_1202
numatic george wet/vac will certainly be doing the interior of my car, but firstly going give it a couple of trial runs on my van and the mrs car.
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
just bought the cleaning solution for the interior valet pro heavy duty, and valet pro enzyme odour eater.
also iv invested in a set of oe headlights as morrettes just aint for me, so they are now for sale.
And just as a heads up opie oils have got a decent sale on atm i got 4 litres of castrol magnatec for £22 delivered, so hoping get the car sorted interior wise then do an oil/filter change and be back on the road end of march/early april. Will then be paying scoff at efi parts a visit to get this megajolt fitted and mapped
-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
got a more interesting update for you all
iv now booked my car in with scoff to get this megajolt fitted and mapped on sat april 21st, really cant wait for this as it will be about the final thing ill be doing engine wise for a while

-
Re: plans for the winter/new year
