Looking forward to this! My engine is all standard (bar some hoses, an air filter, and a side exit), so looking forward to seeing how close to standard power it is!

well spoke to justin today and he said that the cars only done 134miles of beding in. and he dosent like the idear or me running anymore then 20psi. and he told me that i should only do one run at that. im in a corner and dont no what to do. any ideas.?
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
yeah do as he says fella not worth blowing it up all for the sake of a dyno day, get it bedded in and we will return for another run i might even stick another 4psi up mine as well ;)

cheers mate the cars only running 5psi atm. just dont want people think that ive talked the talk and not walk the walk. if you no what i mean. just dont want to let anyone down.;)
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
cant see why anyone would think that fella it cant have 30psi whacked through it if its not bedded in yet, like i say we can arrange another dyno session once your up and running proper
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
Personal for me the best way to run an engine in is to run it hard:D
It's all about piston ring seal breaking in to which I would say the first 20 miles the most important.

Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
i'd be happy with 150-160 unless i get chance to drill my carb out.
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
yeah im picking alex up then eastham lil chef it is, whats peoples opinion on route? motorways along way, think i'd rather go a54, 10 less miles and 1 min longer lol?
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
just a little note for you all, just be careful when coming onto the industrail estate as there is a police holding cell centre there so be a bit wary where to plant the right foot ;)
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
specs pretty standard really. std cam, carrera fmic, t3 acttuator on t25/t28 not sure spec of turbo, turbo guy just gave me it for free and said it'd do allright :P lol i know its got a .49 ex housing tho. big downpipe 2 3/4 ich gt tuning ex system.
boosts about 15psi
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
defo be interesting see them results its crying out for a bit more boost on that turbo ;)
-

Prefer none motorway :) a54 sounds gooood mate
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
yeah you can feel it kick in and want to go, i fitted an adjustable valve while it was off the road(which ive now removed) first drive it shot straight past 20psi easily. got wastegate chatter even with my forge DV so no idea what pressure it went to lol
-

well worth doing just finished playing with mine today ready for satarday. car feels so much better :)
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
i dont have any air corrector jets so it'd only be 1.2 on the 2nd stage and see where it goes from there.
More of a set the boost to the 1.2 rather than aiming for a boost figure.
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
Tony id imagine your car on that turbo would benefit from a 285 cam and another 3-5 psi. Good job you took that valve off.
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
yeah it was a stupid gt tuning one, didnt matter what i did with the nuts/threads still overboosting. so junked it lol 18psi is around where i'd like to leave it. to be honest 15s still pretty fun :D i drive it with alot less anger than i used to so power isnt everything for me anymore, i just love being out in it pootling around.
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
I have a piper 285 with springs and vernier but....... same old story, no time to fit it lol. got new pistons and liners too among many other things but...... :)you get the idea.
-
Re: staffs/cheshire new year meet/rolling road day
tubular manifold should arrive soon too but..................... prob never fit it lol atleast its big shiny and nice to look at.
