Cheers fella, I'll give you a shout if I decide to change plan and go that route :agree:
You and your wheels!!
Delighted!
Got my AEM wideband fitted and replaced the white gauges in the vent pod with a very nice stack boost gauge and voltmeter.
Initial AFR readings are way too lean on idle so will tinker with the mixture screw later.
Driving on boost WOT mid 11's up to about 15psi but need to do some further conclusive testing and log some proper runs at varying boost in 3rd and 4th WOT but certainly from initial tests it's not leaning out too much by upping the boost a bit.
I wouldnt worry too much about afr readings on idle. A slight air leak on the exhaust will cause lean readings - also if the sensor is quite far away from the turbo will cause lean readings. Assuming the engine idles ok and runs ok then leave it be. I adjust idle mixture by ear ;)
Cheers Brigsy, yeah it idles spot on and isn't popping and backing on over run, just burbles.
Will do some more reading on AFR's and set boost accordingly for the time being
:agree:
Good man
A lot more satisfaction in a self tune dude ;)
Didn't go for the self tune Chris, too much potential to go wrong and lack of knowledge and experience on my part so went up to see Mike & Tony at GT turbo spares, they've worked some magic and it's running sweet
Bit more to get out of it yet but also had a full health check and identified some small jobs to do so it's going back up in the new year to finish the tuning and sort a few things
Not much to report but got myself a couple of grills, both of which need minor repairs plus got myself a nice original bonnet. Waiting for my painter to get some time then hopefully we'll be back to an oe front end
Big updates for the people not on the Facebook page;
Oe front end fitted up including new bonnet, grille and headlights.
Nightmare matching paint but got there in the end

Now got a set of Turbines I'm doing a custom refurb on and as ever picking through the list of niggles.
Bloody hell - that looks better from the front now! Funny you had trouble with the paint as I had that campus grill painted and thought it matched perfectly! Different suppliers I guess
Surprised you've gone for the standard badge - I loved that carbon one - or wouldn't it come off?
Side skirt strips must look better - could see daylight through them from some angles so bet that finishes the sides off nicely
Glad you went for turbines - can't wait to see them fitted now!
Oh and don't fret - my 182 has significantly more issues to sort!
Thanks Tim,
The campus grill wasn't bad but under fluorescents it was way off and your right out supplier sent out a few variants for us but I'm the end we had to custom tint it to get it about right.
Looks loads different with the oe front and those strips make a massive difference.
Going to have a nice custom twist on the Turbines, kinda like an oe raider wheel with a twist!
Anything french always has an unfinished list I think :D
Hope all is well, let me know when strut brace is ready and the other bits :agree:
Oh and couldn't get the carbon badge off :crap:
Looking very nice bud.:agree:
Another evening on the 5,
New FAG rear wheel bearings fitted,
New handbrake cables fitted and routed correctly (old ones were on wrong)
Freed up rear compensator ( now have a brand new spare for the future)
Had a thorough inspection underneath and all is well.
Did identify new pads F&R are required as there are pads from Halfords in there
Everything looking really good
Also had a new battery last night. A nice Bosch S4002
Another productive couple of hours this morning re-wiring the number plate lights, cleaning the earth point behind the nsr light rectifying the fault where the heated rear screen light comes on with sidelights. All as it should be now
New additions to report!
GT Tuning ninja oil cap, brand new (last ever) breadbin intercooler, rad top plate cover and turbo Heatshield!!
