So how is everyone getting on? :)
Both vehicles are ready, van might need a pair of tyres thats about it
Adam will no doubt faff the hell out of his car but all I have to do is get in it, easy peasy :D
Sadly I'm out this year after blowing the bottom end might pop over in the mrs car but I'm sure she won't let me go on the track with it :burnrubber:
was really looking forward to this year meeting you all.. Didn't think I'd be doing it in the family car
Mate your not out! Get that sump off and start yourself a jobs list. Im only in Sleaford and Jon is in Lincoln, im more than happy to help where i can.
I am in Doncaster if your up ship creek ..
Easy enough to change big end bearings(thats what it sounds like) just fingers crossed for the other bearings) this will atleast get you running for around £60-70 with an oil and filter change. Its not that difficult to do really. engine needs hoisting up and front engine mount undone then the sump should just about come off.
Once its running keep the pressure down so its just a bit of fun till you build up a spare bottom end. when the times right swap the head over and stick the new engine in :D
No excuses now, :yeah:
Itll take acouple of hours. ill time ya. Starting from....... NOW!!! 1 2 3 4..................................:)
Jobs to do all between working shifts being daddy and :hump: the mrs to make up for blowing £2000 in four months :) so
Tomorrow
Jack the car up drain it and sump off then either :) or  then day off Thursday as I have my daughter see how we go.. It will all be ok in the end..

It was fantastic to see the cup cars at mallory last year, just wish my engine hadnt chewed its rings. Will be nice to keep up with them this year :D or try anyway.
put petrol in mine, and its ready to burnout.:burnrubber::burnrubber:
what ever the mot flags up tomorrow.
cheers tony. basics done but only failed on one thing. he found that the nearside front lower subframe mounting area is excessivley corroded. so need to get it up on the ramps tomorrow to have a good look at what needs to be done.:(
That doesn't sound too good :(
thats what i thought. cant work out why it has gone so quick. it normally as a rule only comes out in the dry, is kept in the garage and only covered 2500 miles last year and never been a advisory. ill know more tomorrow.
Probably surface rust as the metals really thick where the subframe mounts.
Well i picked up a fresh battery yesterday, old one died after 7years on various cars. Other than the on going carb jetting work with the afr gauge and increasing boost levels, im still ready. Think i might try the cup mod too.
yeah definetly jacked up wrong :( sills really arent the place for a jack. you can also see how the floors not actually attached to the sills by anything more than seam sealer on the 5 lol. Good opportunity to weld the floor to the sills :D
blown the head today:eek: with ridiculous booooooooooosssstttttt:)
having it skimmed on thursday:)
will be ready for wmids rolling road day at the end of the month:)
providing i dont blow it up again befor blyton i should be ok:agree:
I said you would !
:sad2:
Am going to do it right Tis time mate! Went for a boost around the lanes where i live and smashed some power down, it went lumpy and shat more steam than the flying scotsman! I'm one the prowl for low compression pistos atm and while lump is in bits I'm going to have a poke round and make sure it will take the hammer! Bluntys sorting me out with new carb jets, and I'm going to give Justin a hand fettling her. Fitted a innovate AFR last week and have moved the header and piping last weekend, so I'm getting there. Went a little too far, far too early:p
Perfectly expressed with smileys there Clee.
Let me see.
Clio - Performance pads
Quadra - New brake upgrade, tyres, wheels. New rad, new front end, new external WG.
Standalone mapped and maybe fit a passenger seat.
Fuego - Rebuild all the brakes, cooling system, paint the bonnet and refit it, service it, and anything else from being sat for (too many) years.
Good job i'm not bringing the 9. I might bring the five though, if I buy it and if I get it roadworthy in time :D, that needs a fuel tank, new injectors and mapping.
No wonder i'm always ****ing poor
now mot'ed and all put back together. :)
6 weeks to go, 6 weeks to go!!! :D
got a trackday at donington first..so it will deffo need some more petrol in it..:)
Oh I've just got sooooooooo much to do!
I have to watch Adam wash the car and then get in it, the stress I have on myself right now is insane :D
I do actually have a lot to do for the day itself but that's for you rabble, not me lol. I'm just glad I don't have any prep to do on my own car like Big Steve probably has
Wheels back on

Bigger injectors
Charge cooler modifications

- paint / install roll cage
- put the interrior back in
- replace exhaust manifold
