action camera problem

i bought a "go pro hero" action cam on ebay and it finally got delivered to
me yesterday . had a quick go at it to make sure i find my way around it .

it supposed to take a max of 2gig sd card for extra storage ,this is where
my misery starts . there are only 2 buttons on the camera 1 being the power on /off
and the other one for scrolling menus etc .
according to user manual the camera should turn on when power button is
pressed for 2 secs , which it does when there is no sd card fitted .
but once i fit the sd card there seems to be a problem .
i press the power button and all the symbols on the display screen come up
very vaguely and the camera dont seem to function at all .
when i take the sd card out ,the screen remains the same and camera still wont work . only after i take the card out and remove one of the batteries in order
to reset the bloody thing it works fine again :crap:

so far i tried formatting the sd card in my digi cam and trying different
make/size sd cards but no luck .before anyone mentions ,the sd card is fitted the right way . in fact its not really possible to fit it the wrong way around as the
slot will not allow this .

also sent an email to the manufacturer helpline with the above problem .
just wondering if anyone have any tricks up their sleeves on here ??:confused:
