Just wondering if anyone knows what the best solution is for running big power?
Fit the VAG box. Or pay Scoff to, if he has time that is.
Depends how much power your running, most people still use the original gearbox with no problems. Only really high power i recon you'll need to start upgradingQuote:

supes, your assuming Ian is talking only about C1J. as mark says, standard gearbox will do you fine.

these two currant boxes that have given up on you,i take it that there donor second hand boxes?,which can be fine but if your expecting to run big power then there not going to last long are they,your not gna know the mileage etc,new box built well should last you longer i would have thought.

my gearbox seems to be handling the extra torque with no probs although it will be interesting to see how it handles a bit more girp once i get new tyres , its just a rebuilt standard box with gripper diff fitted .
