How do people generally measure their cars ride height after they've fitted coilovers?
I usually measure from the top lip of the damper bolts to the bottom lip of the spring platform adjuster...
Reason I ask is that I'm getting new suspension and the ride height on a lot of coilovers seem to suggest that you can not lower more than -60mm before it affects the warranty/damper etc etc
My Avos are currently a lot lower...but from what point(s) is the suggested ride height taken from?

No prob not the way Renault do it but if you measure a standard one then minus the amount you want to lower it you get and idea how low they can go by the distance from the side skirt gap to the floor ;).Quote:

I just want to know the 'proper' way of measuring the ride height before I start barking down the phone ordering up some s****y new coilies :laugh:

I fitted some the other day to the @lag 16v and i guessed the height i wanted, turned out the platforms ended up near the bottom, works fine but needs to come up if i'm honest :laugh:Quote:

I wouldn't use that method because if the springs have different rates it won't mean a thing. You just need to pick a point on the shell (near the wheels) to the ground on a level floor and try the different heights. For std ride height, ask some on here to measure their ride height from the same point your using for comparison.Quote:

What I might have more luck doing is weighing a complete F4R for you, I'll see if I ca borrow some scales from work that are more suitable. I can't see the usual method of me holding the part and standing on the bathroom scales working well this time.
