ND 2016 Frog Pod Retro Weekend Sat/Sun 02/03 July 2016

hi there, something to look forward to guys for you all
NATIONAL DAY 2016

RETRO SHOW
Sunday 3rd July 2016 @ santa pod. www.RetroShow.co.uk
The multi-marque event for fans of retro vehicles on two and four wheels with pre 1990 RWYB, Show & Shine, car clubs and retro entertainment. New for 2016 incorporating TriumFest!

theres also a RWYB day on the saturday for those that may want to make a full weekend of it and camping on saturday night for a bit of banter and crack

Im officially making this a 100% event now, ill speak to ian later on about organising the event again and getting the tickets in the club shop shortly at greatly discounted prices for the paid members of the club

those that attended this last year will remember what a great weekend this was and everyone had a great time, this year being in july so arthur this will hopefully be better for you:agree::laugh:

I was thinking about this yesterday Mick. Nice one. If anyone has any ideas on how to make this a top club event feel free to chip in!

Organised pitch cars are we able to get a pitch alongside the strip? Noticed last couple of years the lotus boys had these but only 1 or 2 cars in the area all day, it's on the main walking area so will get loads if attention, fan the cars for a nice display that are not going to move all day, Banners, flags, flyers, maybe Rtoc merchandise/ shop bits aswell.

ill get the site map to you james if you circle it we can ask for that zone but may not get the exact spot your talking about, pod allocate this themselves boss

Prominent position would be good. When would the earliest tickets can go on sale?

ive spoke to ian and iirc the tickets go on sale in late dec/early jan matt we get a nice discount from pod too so that makes tickets really cheap for members

I'll be up for this, be good having the Nay Day back at the Pod, especially on Retro weekend :agree:

this year mark it was awesome most people ive seen at a meet for a while anywayz:agree:

Im up for this, Retro Show has been really good the last couple of years with at least 20+ gt turbo's there, need to get more people camping too ;).

ok ive fired a email to donna and i think we can get them very soon as i think they are available soon, ill need to get ian to pay for them and work out the discount for members and non members for friends etc. spouse will be the same members prices but ONLY spouse, ie girlfriends or wifes dont ask otherwise:coffee:

I've just posted the event on the RTOC FB page, I will when I get home add it as a Calendar Event my mobile doesn't seem to allow this to be done on the mobile app.

This will be a great event for all members to support YOUR CLUB!:D Ideas to make this event special very welcome.;)

I'm well up for this and I will try and camp to race both Saturday and Sunday

I remember 10yrs ago we had alittle contest at Nat Day, took the 10 fastest 5's of the day and done a head-to-head race against each other. Was a good laugh plus it gave the spectators something else to watch too, little heads-up racing! ;)

Saying that back then we was all running c1j's but that wouldn't be too hard to sort the cars evenly

Good to hear this is happening again.

Would the club consider getting a banner up on the stand next year, or flag or something, make a show of it, advertise the club and attract some of the Renault owners to the club that were parked elsewhere on the site?

That's the plan Jeff. Hope to advertise on Facebook etc and get plenty members involved;)

How about the RTOC logo made out of polished stainless tube ;) like a 3D banner to go in front of members cars?

I was there this year and enjoyed it despite not having the car with me. Will go again to the next one and will have one of the cars with me this time. Great day out

no matt, once we get tickets ordered I believe thats tom, as i said to james we can only ask for a zone, pod will then allocate us part of that zone, what ill try and do this year is get us a pre allocated part, i can't guarantee this though and will find out only 1 month before retro day as this is when they let us know where the stand is, im looking into logo flags that sit under wheels and another gazebo if there only £80 like trev said, im going to try n make Saturday this time too but wont know till nearer the time, hopefully u can make this one matt as you bought ya ticket first last year then pulled out, i know you had issues thought

How big do you want it?

I reckon......... big enough to be noticed but not too big that it becomes very heavy and difficult to transport. How about having some metal poles in it so it can be shoved in the ground? :)

Ok, I was thinking around 30-40cm high and 1.2-1.5m long. All dependant on how it works out with the font size. :agree:
