A few of them are now working for another company they have started, they still do the 172 turbo conversion etc, can be found on eBay. They are based in Kelvedon now. Not under the name of BB performance tuning though.

What upgrades are you thinking of doing? As everything which which these tuners do you can find elsewhere and more than likely cheaper.

Intercooler can get front mounts off eBay there is an article about them.

Wouldn't advise carbon door cards as have heard stories of accidents and the carbon shattering and going into the persons leg :crap:

Turbo and fuel pump are easier enough to source elsewhere. Coilovers just go direct to one of the suppliers or through a known distributor which wont up the charges loads.

Dont forget prima racing, k-tec,GDI, RTOC Club Shop... RTOC members often do a better job supply & fitting parts at a better price to. :)

my bro bought avo coilovers from bb less than a year ago, and they are rusting where they are painted (not on the threads for the platform)

are engine dynamics totally diff company, so they can avoid having to replace them?

Bigfoot
02-09-2009, 23:32
They are a totally different company. Jon from ex-torsion tuning is working there, plus 2 people from BB (dave and cant remember the other blokes name) and another person who used to rebuild race engines locally. They have merged all together really.

so for my bro, the lesson is dont buy avo coilovers again lol

Bigfoot
03-09-2009, 00:09
Might be worth speaking to AVO see what they can do, were they new when purchased? paid for on credit card?

markey b
03-09-2009, 00:12
brand new from bb's stock, not credit card tho, but debit.

avo said its not covered by any warranty, the 1st email back they said he should grease the threads, even though he explained that its not the threads, its the 'red paint finish' on the shock bodies, after the understood this they decided that its not covered because they plate then paint the shocks

Learn the hard way or fight it out with saying it was going to fail after a certain time, but you have to prove that. Im guessing it will be under the same laws as any item you buy, but they could just say its wear and tear

i may start a seperate thread if he has no luck.. my gaz's are over 4 years old, and look newer than his 'less than a year' avo's in terms of corrosion... its crazy! lol
