Sticking throttle spindle

I have always had a problem with higher than usual revs i noticed that the butterfly wasnt returning to the stop position (the idle adjuster screw wasnt touching the plate).

I fitted a carb refurb kit last night and felt it was exactly the same even after cleaning the spindle up and putting new green bushes on.

Any ideas on how i can free this off a bit more? i would have thought the spindle should be very free moving? Cheers Chris

Try some silicon spray around the spindle area.

That, or a new throttle return spring might help matters.

Cheers Mart, so its just a case of getting it lubed up enough? I was thinking along the lines of a bush could be worn or something?

i got one of those with the same problem!! the plastic bush in the throttle body was fretted so i had to make a brass one for it !
