Penfold aka The Dealer

Well yesterday afternoon i picked up a H reg 5 Gt Turbo, the last owner had owned it for over 10 years, but had no more time/space for it.

Its a nice car, a few bits need work & a few things are needed to get it going...

So i am in need of

Turbo
Intercooler
Front Seats
Front Brake Disc's
Set of Speedline + Tyres
A Few boost hose's etc
May need new front & maybe rear suspension
A Good conditon & preferably white GTT front Bumper (standard only)
Drivers Front door - No dents & with locks - Preferably white

I am sure there is more that is needed, i will have to look into my spares and see what i can do.

Oh does anybody know where you can buy the jack points on there own? As from renault there part of the sill....

Pics will follow as the progress starts.

You havent seen the moss underneath them..... I will have to remove do every panel on the car... Any bit of surface metal will need doing... even the cross member.

Engine & gearbox could do with coming out so i can give the engine bay a damn good clean.... I will try cleaning the car up & decide then if i want to respray this year or not...

As I said to you mate, it was a very clean car (excluding the drivers door, which has always been crap). I just let it slide "a bit" since I stopped using it :ashamed:. I've got loads of pics of the car on my pc, taken over the last six or so years.

Well today i was at my parents recovering, got abit bored & the doctor said i needed to keep my back moving but take things gentle...

So i decided to give Ghost a clean... Only used warm water and & soap, got most of the dirt/moss of the car eventually, does have a few heavy oil/grease marks on the wings & bonnet... lets hope some polish will lift that of.

I have pictures to upload, just waiting for them to load on photobucket, but lets just say i am pleased with the car & i owe a massive thank you to Bill for letting his beloved car of 10 years go. :)

Well Ghost is back at home, needs another good clean, strip the interior, take body kit off, look for rust and treat as needed, maybe remove the engine, get the car to a bodyshop with new bonnet, bumper, grill & sort out the rust on the door, respray the whole car, I will then refit body kit, put interior back in, sort the engine bay out(replace hose's, put anti perc fan back etc, put engine back in, underseal the car, mot, tax & insure...

Deadline 2012?? :) I hope to get it all done by this summer, maybe for ND but unlikely.

Yesterday I spent a few hours cleaning some old wheels & resprayed them in alloy silver, looks alot better in the flesh.

Started on the interior today,
Removed all seats, seat belts and centre consol etc...

Removed the carpet, the sound deadening underneath is mouldy and very damp ( got a leak somewhere odds are around the heater matrix)

As for the red carpet, its heavily stained and greasy :(
After a quick hoover

Well after another clean yesterday the carpet looked like this..
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh149/sexychrissmith/Ghost%205%20GT/03062010219.jpg
Still heavily stain, so today of to tesco with the carpet in the boot, jetwashed it, took it back home and used the carpet cleaner on it again (3 times now) and look at the crap that has came out of it after all these wash's still

Now looks alot cleaner, still some markings, but considering the carpet is orginal and bill has transport engines & various parts for people its not come out to bad...:)

I hope you're not going to run the standard turbo on that engine for long? It doesn't work very well

Dont be fooled by the clean looks of the car, there is rust, alot of rust to sort out, but nothing no repairable, even if I weld in a new floor pan its do-able... & a full respray, if your going to do it, do it once and do it right!!

I am just doing the cheap, oddss & sods jobs whilst I have no job, once I have a job the car will go of to the body shop... :)

I think that's a pretty amazing effort looking at the first picture and comparing it to the last.
