has anyone had greif at tracks for using steel wheels???i use steels on track coz i can turn up with slicks on them swap them and go (also light and cheap!)but recently iv had people saying that i should only b allowed out if i use my alloys because steels are not as safe??:confused::confused:or as strong!!

dont know about the grief bit , but steel wheels are not usually lighter than
alloys ,however they are meant to be much stronger .

Personally ive never heard of anybody saying you cant use steels on track. The cup cars used steel rims on the race series!

Steel rims are probably stronger than most alloys imo. They may be funny about banded steel rims incase of poor welding & dangerously stretched tyres.

My steel cup rims have slicks on, alot of track boys on here use them to...

never had any issues, but as bigsy said stretched steels & welded wheels maybe different...
