Help my car wont start

Hi ive just finished rebuilding my renault 5 and i started it for the 1st time the other week i came out today to start it again and it just turns over:confused: i have no spark from the king lead and i have to put a positive from the battery to the petrol pump to get petrol through has any one had this problem:cry:

Is your tdc lead a known working one? Is your renix unit getting 12v with ignition turned on?

Yea the tdc came off my last running car and as for the aei unit i havent got anything to test to see if it has 12 v running to it but i have tried 2 different aei units

a multimeter costs about £3 mate its a must for any owner

did you check the bottom plug of the aei unit with keys ignition live. i pressuming you checked the black and yellow wire for the voltage.

if the answer to above is no pull out the ash tray and check the connector there see if it has power

Off the top of my head its red and black there a push fit connector and held in place with metal clip should easily be visible

Any joy with this yet. Have you checked the relay next to the AEI (renix)??

If memory serves me right the relay for the rad fan is the same so could be used just to test it.

I had a similar problem and wasnt getting a spark from the king lead and some days it would start and some not then finally not at all. I replaced the relay and no problems since.
