just in renault yesterday and looked at the specs for the clio 197.it does 0-60 in 6.9secs and its 1500kgs!! make an interesting transplant into an 850kg R5.you'd have to end up with a 5sec 0-60??:)

The engine is the same/very similar block to the 225 megane and they use the same gearbox.

So unfortunatley it won't fit.

You could use the engine by itself, but you may as well use the 225 block as it has the benefit of a turbo.

i thought back in the day they weighed the cars 'dry', i.e no petrol or oil etc etc. but nowadays they have two passengers and a half full tank of juice?
