Many of you know he's done his back in and had been waiting for an op for some time. Well his Op didnt quite go according to plan, although his back should be fixed, we did nearly lose the old fruit. A poor reaction to a drug and he almost popped his clogs.

In true typical JRP fashion, he couldnt be arsed to die. Instead he wheels himself out of the hospital and is now at home probably eating marmite and going thru piles of Renault parts.

Big up fella, get well soon. We Love ya!!! :agree:

Dunno what the bigger piss take is, the fact i slipped a disk above the one that was repaired?

the ambulance men left a grease mark on my sofa..(although they were fantastic at their jobs A+++)

A finger up my arse to check i hadnt severed my spine or muscles. (glad the doctor had not had curry before)

or the fact i have a new set of wheels? (non permenant...but a pain in arse)

So two weeks after getting out well 10 days, i end up with no movment from waist down, feelings comming back... X rays showed my bolts were still in place.

So ive either slipped a disk out (x rays dont show disks) and im unable to have mri scan as im loaded internaly with metal... i have an appointment monday with my expert. Maybe torn muscle ligment etc off the bone... im confused!

all i did wasd lean over.... What the hell did i do to deserve this shiiiiiit i just wanna go back to work.

Mate, that's hardcore. I wouldn't wish back trouble on anyone, especially to that extent. :sad2:

I've been popping dicyclomax everyday for the last two years to keep me going. The docs have increased my dosage to the maximum, but my sciatica has still spread from my left ass cheek/left leg over to my right side. Had two mri's on my back... one said the disc at the base of my spine has degenerated, and the other... I'm still waiting.

I shouldn't be working on my car/going to the gym, but I'm fed up of feeling like a flid. Co-codimal is my friend for beddy byes.

I've never heard of them using bolts before? Did they talk about fusing it or possible disc replacement?

Couldn't wish you anymore luck with getting better, mate.

Its a partial fusion, well the vertabre are fused but i have movement, inbetween the screws are chords and rubber covers, effectifly coilovers in my back, its called dynesis look it up :)

We spoke of disk replacment, but this involves going in from the front, removing everything in you to change disk.... and can leave you impotent, i didnt fancy having my gut, and contents of my body out on a table while they change a disk.

you say why from the front... this is the only accsess to slide it out and replace.... also it would only last 15 odd years before you go through it again...

this seemed a good bet to eliviate the pressure on broken disk.

now ive torn another hows my luck lol.... ile be ok though:)

It was the "going in through the front" which put me off disc replacement, and that was not even knowing about the 15 year temporary solution. Fook that!

Bring on the days of "spine replacement". I could certainly do with a new one. :D They do say that fixing one area puts extra work on the rest of the spine. I don't know about you, but I always get grief from my the area just between my shoulder blades, aswell. Every morning I have to crack it while driving to work.... got the technique down so well I can do it while I drive. Do get some funny looks though.

i can click it up there as well big relife! im just happy im fixed...

unless your disk is fully broken im suprised they even mentioned a disk replacment.

And fusion is old hat, check what ive had done. never have surgery unless your sure you need it.

i couldnt move for 4 days, and thats hell in a hospital bed... as they are plastic lined, and hot.... and not being able to move with out at least 3 nurses to help...

to turn over i needed help... and i could only stay in one position for 25 to 30 mins before they had to help me move again..

perminant fentynol drip in my arm to stop the pain... not morphine as it nearly killed me.

its hell and id never wish it on anybody. it hurt to breath... thats bad... never again i hope. ohhh and dont sneeze it makes you cry

My mum had buggered 3 discs at the base of her spine and had it all fused. Was a long time ago...... and tbh, she's been left disabled (although I've heard good things from other people).

The doctors haven't talked about surgery 'yet' with me... the only thing they've said is that I'm quite young for it and, pretty much what you've recommended (don't do it unless you really have to).

All the stuff I know is what I've researched through the net. It's not so much that I want surgery this minute, it's more... I can kinda see the writing on the wall so it's better to know what's available.

I've never met you mate, but I already know you're one tough cookie (strength of character aswell) to be coming out of what you've been through.

When you mentioned the sneezing, it really brought it home to me as I've been there before with sneezing (to the point the pain would put the sneeze off), but NOTHING like what you've been through.

internet is full of **** when it come to forums explaining surgery... you get people posting that have never had it done or done it thinking they know it all...much like any forum.

Think long and hard... one bonus is ive lost over a stone in weight lol but iam buggerd but will be ok in the end... you gotta ask your self if its needed of you can just have things like the pain injections and that may do it...

Nhs saved my life as well as fixing my back to me they are awsum :agree:
