I have been wondered that is there any reason to install dump valve into the new car?

My girlfriend wants dump valve into my car (she likes the sound of dumb valve). I have heard that there are several cars that it won't fit. Is there dump valve or similar system to newer cars?

In my case, there Renault Laguna II, phase 2, year model 2006.

Some people say that if you have MAF then you cannot use dump valve, it will brake the engine or turbo...what is the truth in this case?

your car almost certainly has a dump valve, but it'll be a recirc type. I don't know whether your Laguna is MAF, or MAP. If it MAP, no problem, knock yourself out. If it's MAF, the air leaked from your (venting to atmosphere) dump valve will throw out the fuelling. That said there are plenty of people running dumb valves with MAF, there is a special name for them.

Personally I think you need a new girlfriend.

ive got an R26 and i was running a single piston dump valve for about 7 months on it and found out this month that it has maf so cannot use the single (gutted) however luckily forge do a duel piston DV which is perfect and runs excellent on it now. I also know ktec do a similer version so they are availible dude :)

further to this the majority of the megane owners have DV on and there all fine with it so no it doesnt throw out fuelling otherwise we wouldnt do it lol :)

stick a cone filter on it an listen to the compressor surge instead.
