Ok so what is the thickness of a standard unskimmed head and what is the maximum that can be taken off.
What actually happens when a head that has been skimmed a few times is fitted to the car?
does it lose power or just not run?
73.5mm is standard IIRC ???

skimming raises the compression ration, if you have a haynes manual it should contain all necessary info and dimensional details. if not let me know and i'll see if our autodata has the info.

skimming the head makes the car a little more responsive, it also lowers the detonation/pinking threshold. but there are ways around it. a few people run high comp engine without any significant probs.
