are you sure it's the seals and not the valves/guides?

They were brand new guides in place, when put the williams valves in, so hoping not.

did you get to feel how well the valves fitted in the guides? I say this because I've never bothered with stem seals, but maybe with so many valves it's more of a problem.

oh, did you use genuine seals?

I had a garage do all the work who specialises in engines. did not get to feel they have fitted in the guides but im hoping they were all ok, will be taking the head off this week to find out.

The seals came from my work place, not genuine renault ones.

with the head and cams off do a diesel test on the valves .
(pour diesel on to valves up to the brim and wait for a couple hours to see if
diesel will leak into inlet/exhaust ports )
