ive just bought some sabelt clubman harnesses off ebay and theyve come with no fixing point for behind you, theres a loop there but not the metal hinge thing to bolt to the car?
can you get extra hinge things so i can keep the interior in the car and just bolt them to the rear belt point, or have i gota get a cage fitted?
thanx

Me too - why:confused:

Oh I cn think of one reason -

If I fit harnesses but not a roll cage I will be asking for trouble because -

....... New rozzer in local village gives me a 20 minuit lecture about not wearing seatbelts and how dangerous this is and how my wife will be non to impressed when I come home with a smashed in face etc, then soldiering on to write me a fixed notice penalty and producer as I noncheonantly allowd him to waste even more of his time as I waited until his Hitlerian style rant was over then pointed out the use of harnesses which I was currently wearing, which he did not see as I was wearing black.
Still being a cock he carried on to warn me ??? and told me he would keep an eye on me. HaHa Ha. Told me to go on my way to whit I replied no thanks I'll stay right here unless there are any other non existant reasons why I should not.

:cooter:

Apart from that I cant think of a good reason - but I'm regularly wrong in these matters.

If you've got a harness "locking" you in an upright position, and you've got no cage, what happens if you roll the car? The odds are you're going to squash the roof down, straight onto your loaf, snap goes your neck! If you've got an ordinary seat belt, you can at least try and get your head down to dashboard level.

That's easier said than done though I'm sure, but it's the first thing that popped into my head.

Too many what If scenarios going on for my liking! :crap: cue someone to post up the positives of wearing a harness over a seatbelt. :D

if i did manage to roll my car without a cage in i still think a harness is safer than a normal belt,:)

undo the loop from the adjuster, slide in the clip and thread the seatbelt back through the the plastic adjuster.

that's pretty flash, I wonder how you're supposed to loop it around your cage?

They look like you have to bulild the cage around the harness?!?

surley running them through a boot brace is a bad ideas. what happens if your rear ended and the bar gets bent how much slack will that create on the harnesses.

I have harnesses and a boot brace in place but mine are bolted to the floor where the original seat belts clips were bolted. Much safer IMO

i was thinkin about using a boot brace if all else fails, where can you get them from cus i searched for them lastnight and could find any for sale anyware??

or what about gettin one of those harness clips mentioned earlier and cuttin a small slot in the middle so the loop on the harness could be thread onto it, with out it been weakened??
