How can i solve this problem, ive had it before and now after ive fitted a rebuilt engine.

Car idles fine and runs fine but when you switch on either side lights, lights, or fan cuts in etc etc. The revs drop as engine struggles on idle to make more voltage which is needed.

How can i solve this prob? Bigger battery? or would a higher voltage alternator be better? what else?

thanks:cool:

sounds like you have the 2 little wires on top of the alternator the wrong way round.

is the battery light on all the time even when the car is running ?

No battery light, only when you have everything electrical on and its struggling the battery light will flicker on/off.

What 2 wire do you mean?

ahh, the batt light flickers...alternator could be screwed...

you need to check the voltage across the battery...should be between 12-14v at idle give or take and around 11-12v with no ignition :)

I will test the voltage on idle tomorrow, when i tested it before starting engine it was between 11-12v. But will check when running.
