hey guys,

need a little bit of info/guidance:

As some of you already know I'm fitting a complete front end of Megane 225 to my 11, so the front weight of the car will be identical to Meggy 225.

I'm trying to figure out what spring rates I should take into account as a starting point.

Renaultsport has it on their website that the R26R has 14mm/100kg spring rate whereas my Leda coilovers have 300lbs eibach springs fitted.

So I need some advice in regards to where I'm standing now and what should I do.

thanks in advance..........

14mm/100kg would be 400lb/in, sounds about right for a tarmac spring on a heavy car like the R26R. It's an odd way of describing a spring rate though.

If your car ends up 80% of the weight of the Megane you want 400*.8 = 320lb/in

Checking my notes I have rates of 6.7/7 Kg/mm for tarmac spring rates for the new Clio which is 375/390 lb/in.

so my 300lbs springs are a little bit on the soft side for this setup, maybe 350lbs would be a good starting point?

thanks Andy :agree:

possibly, but since you have them you may as well try them.

I will most definetely try them Andy as they were pretty stiff with the C1J under the bonnet, you never know I might save a few quid there :scared:
