Right guys, I've been reading past threads and can't make up my mind ... I need to replace my shocks before Nay Day. Opinions please ...

Car is lowered and is mainly used on the road and have Gaz coilovers on the front ... perhaps going forward it will do the occasional track day (starting at Mallory Park) :)

How well do the std shocks work on a lowered car?

What adjustable aftermarket brands have people tried and tested and what were your opionions?

Go with oe rears if the drop isnt lower than -50mm up front.

Personally i would not use the OE ones on dropped cars on the rear, i found them to bottom out and the damping action poor as they have already been lowered you are asking them to work beyond their design, i personally would go for some that are designed to work on lowered cars something like some Koni ones or other makes, i have the Koni's them on mine and they were specially made with the shaft and all the other parts made to my design so that they are designed to work on lowered cars, massive difference i found.

Why would you not want the gaz dampers to match the fronts?

I wanted to know if anyone has used them before and if they were any good?

I have them on mine and they seem to work well but I have only ever had these and o.e dampers. Really depends on how much money you want to spend, how fast can you afford to go:)

in what sence are the extra van shocks better suited to a lower rear end over the std gtt rear shocks?

I recently replaced mine with a set of Konis from Prima racing. Set them to full stiff and run the car on the bump stops by putting a rubber door stop around the shaft.

Drill 1/2" hole through a solid rubber door stop, cut open wrap around the damper rod and cable tie in place. I know it sounds crazy but it has the most amazing effect on handling.
