basically if you look under the carb on the rocker side you can see the throttle spindle has a bush pressed into it to which the pump jet rod fixes into.

this bush is now really manky, you may aswell call it no exsistant as the pump jet rod keeps on falling out.

anyone have an idea on how i can fix this?

Small o-ring should do the trick. If not, try flanging out the end of the metal rod so that it can't be 'pushed' back through the hole on the end of the spindle.

again bump:sad:

not really had the time to sort this,
i dont see how i can flange the end of the rod:scratch: i mean,i cant squash it as its too hard! and i dont want to bend it either.
does anyone have an idea of what i can put in place of the perished bush that the rod used to push through? im not a fan of bodging things together really:sad2:

i could do with sorting mine as it seems as if its seen better days.

but it seems to be holding up at the moment though.

i've used a very short bit of silicone tube before, it sorta makes the bush that was there, but will hold it ok

i cant seem to find a small enough o-ring:scratch: are you suggesting i put the o-ring over the rod or within the arm where the original bush is fitted??

Over the rod, once it's pushed through the hole/where the grommet sits. The 2 splayed out bits of metal should be enough to keep the o-ring in situ, and the o-ring should be of sufficient size not to pop through the grommet hole.

ok i get you now, thanks:agree: i can only find 3mm o-rings, i hope thats small enough!

ideally i would have prefered to actually replace this worn nylon bush.:(

how big would you say the o-ring is that is on the carb mixture screw?

reason being is that ive just tried one of these on the end of the rod and its loose, resulting in it coming off easily. now i dont even know if there are o-rings smaller than this available.. i doubt it.

silicone tube, cut a small length... put it thru the hole then push the rod thru the centre

nice one:agree: i'll give this a go before getting a blob of spot weld put on the rod.
