Thanks thats really helpfull,

So heres my list

1. check for dodgy turbo's and clutch, just put the car in 4th gear and at 20mph put my foot to the floor and if the clutch slips walk and if i see smoke walk.

2. Mayo in oil = walk

3. Over heating = walk

4. Rusty sills = hmmm

Anything else anyone can think of?

Dont buy the first one you see, take notes on ones you look at and compare.

whoever helped you buy the first one you bought, just leave them at home.

haha good point :)

I only spent £250 on my last 5, so i cant really complain i knew what i was getting myself into for that sort of money, the car would still be fine now if it wasnt for the sunroof leaking and rusting the roof to pieces.
Ive got about £1200 to spend this time, still not loads but hopefully enough to get me a half decent 5.

save some more money and either buy a minter(low milage)car or one that has been properly repaired/restored(the owner should have loads of pics)....some people put so much effort into their car and then sell it!!!

Thanks for the offer but id prefer a normal gt turbo, i had to have a 15 min convo with my insurance company trying to explain what a dump valve was, i think an entire transplanted car would send them into a coma.

Ive just been to view one today, but it wasnt running very well, it stuttered abit and had alot of white smoking coming from the exhaust when i changed gear?

dont get your hopes up of picking a tip top 5, best things to get a good one for the right price and give it a going over. i've replaced so much on my car, little goes wrong:cool:

all the wheel bearings, all the brakes, all the hoses, all the welding, all the bushes, all the suspension, all the tyres...............you see the pattern, stick with it and trouble free driving comes along:smokin:

sometimes i think mines a bit sh1t, but the grass isn't greener on the otherside so i keep it:)
