View Full Version : Rear engine mounting

Dropped the gear box in last night. Attached it to the front mount ok, but the rear engine mount i swear their is somthing that sits between mount and gear box bracket...

It just does not look right. can anybody advise?

Right then there is a metal cup which goes over the mount then a metal plate with a rubber on the end and I take it u have put them on the correct order see haynes

any pictures of the offending parts ? i dont think i have them anywhere! not sure the 5 had them when i got it :(

It shows them in the haynes got no pics mate I am sure some 1 mite have pics

your right jon your 5 didn't have them as we mentoned it when we took the gearbox out:)

What you upto tonight ? I fancy driving the 5 may pop up via going the back roads as the weather is nice.

If you need that back mount I think I have a spare... i'll dig it out when you head up for those conrods

Had a look last night after a little test run of my 5 on some nice country roads :burnrubber:. JRP defo needs the metal mount bit that sits on top of the rear mount and also the mount bit that goes on top of the gearbox metal bracket / mount aswell (rectangular bracket with rubber at one end).
